We foster a culture where respect is foundational, innovation is encouraged, and safety is never compromised.At Cementation, we value experience and are inspired by potential.About this PositionReporting to the Planning and Readiness & Analysis and ImprovementManager, the P&R Planner is responsible for supporting the development and execution of detailed planning and readiness work packages to ensure safe, efficient, and predictable execution of construction and operational activities.The P&R Planner prepares various Field Instruction Work Packages (FIWP), readiness documentation, sequencing plans, and schedules while coordinating with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Operations to ensure work is planned, resourced, and executed in accordance with project requirements and client standards. Key Responsibilities:Health and SafetyWork in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation.Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department.Ensure all applicable safety codes and regulations are met by appropriate design and use of technology.General Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing and preparing Field Instruction Work Packages (FIWP) and readiness documentation to deliver safe and predictable execution sequences, including but not limited to the following:Assist in detailing installation plans, special considerations, and work exclusions.Obtain, review, and incorporate engineering deliverables, drawings, and 3D models (if applicable).Review models, drawings, vendor documents, scope of work (SOW), and material take-offs (MTO) to confirm scope of installation work.Support review of project schedules to confirm work sequences, installation progress requirements, and milestone completion plans.Develop detailed (Level 4 and Level 5) schedules and execution sequences to accompany FIWPs.Assist schedulers with importing detailed FIWP schedules into the Integrated Construction Schedule.Highlight and mitigate potential construction and schedule risks identified during the planning process.Support tag assignment and tracking within planning systems and associated work packages.Review material assignment schedules and support monitoring of equipment delivery sequences, including long lead items.Track forecasted arrival dates for supplied material within procurement and expediting systems.Prepare and submit purchase requisitions to support FIWP readiness.Track progress of deliverables to ensure construction readiness.Identify, engage, and coordinate the onboarding of subcontractors with the procurement/contracts teams required to execute FIWPs.Assist in preparing Work Package Risk Assessments (WPRA).Support development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Assist in development of lifting and rigging plans under supervision of qualified personnel.Coordinate required permits (hazardous work permits, regulatory permits) and ensure documentation packages are complete.Verify availability of required tools, equipment, scaffold (if applicable), and vehicles for execution.Identify specific training requirements for execution teams (e.g., emergency response, technical rescue, specialized certifications).Support readiness reviews to confirm craft and skilled personnel availability and preparedness.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within planning and readiness processes.Maintain organized documentation and version control of planning packages.Attend coordination meetings and support interface management between engineering, procurement, and field teams.Other such duties as may be assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNoneQualificationsJourneyperson Millwright, Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Mechanical Engineer, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.Minimum 3 years of related experience in construction, mining, heavy industrial, or infrastructure projects.Strong understanding of scheduling principles and fundamentals, construction methods, installation sequencing, and Field Installation Work Package (FIWP) methodology.Proficiency in scheduling and planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) considered an asset.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Experience reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.CandidacyPlease note that to be considered, you must be a Canadian citizen or have written authorization to work in Canada under federal immigration requirements and currently be residing in Canada.Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and InclusionAt Cementation Americas, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every employee is treated with dignity and respect.
