Job description
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily activities of production crews to meet manufacturing schedules and deadlines.
- Promote and uphold a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assign work, monitor progress, and support employees in achieving production targets.
- Work alongside crews in plant to complete tasks including concrete finishing, setting up forms, cleaning forms and other tasks required
- Provide hands-on training, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
- Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Communicate production priorities and operational updates to crew members and supervisors.
- Assist in troubleshooting production challenges and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor material usage, equipment performance, and workforce productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Control, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to improve operational efficiency.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance productivity and quality.
Requirements
- Must have own transportation, no public transportation available
- Good attendance and a positive attitude
- Experience in a manufacturing, construction, industrial, or precast concrete environment.
- Previous leadership experience as a Lead Hand, Team Lead, Foreperson, or Supervisor is preferred.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead by example and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, production schedules, and work instructions is considered an asset.
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other industrial equipment is considered an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of precast concrete manufacturing processes are considered assets.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial setting.
