We are looking to add a Senior Project Quality Coordinator to work on one of our important building projects in North York, Ontario.

The Senior Project Quality Coordinator supports the Project Quality Lead in implementing and maintaining the project’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role is responsible for coordinating QA/QC activities, conducting inspections, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.

The coordinator works closely with construction teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party inspectors, providing technical support and ensuring quality requirements are consistently met throughout project execution.

Responsibilities

Quality Coordination & Documentation

• Support the implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Plan and QA/QC procedures.
  
• Develop and manage Inspection & Test Plans, checklists, and inspection schedules aligned with construction activities.
  
• Review contract documents, specifications, drawings, and submittals to identify quality requirements and risks.
  

Inspections & Testing

• Conduct field inspections for civil, structural, architectural, and building systems work.
  
• Coordinate material receipt, traceability, and verification processes.
  
• Confirm compliance of third-party testing agencies with project requirements.
  
• Track and analyze inspection and test results.
  

Nonconformity & Corrective Action Management

• Document observations, deficiencies, and nonconformity.
  
• Work with site superintendents & subcontractors to implement corrective actions.
  
• Escalate major quality issues to the Project Quality Lead.
  

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate the review and verification of subcontractor and supplier Quality Plans, ITPs, and quality documentation.
  
• Facilitate pre-installation and pre-activity meetings with subcontractors and suppliers.
  
• Monitor compliance, conduct quality audits, and work with subcontractor or supplier to resolve non‑conformances and maintain accurate records.
  
• Support client and consultant audits and respond to quality-related inquiries.
  
• Maintain transparent communication with construction teams and external stakeholders.
  

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

• Monitor quality records and KPIs, identify trends, and support improvement initiatives.
  
• Capture lessons learned and share insights with the project team.
  
• Assist with quality close-out activities, ensuring complete turnover documentation.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field.
  
• 6-8 years of experience in construction or quality management.
  
• Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, ITPs, and construction documentation.
  
• Experience interpreting construction contracts, specifications, drawings, codes, and standards.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction quality documentation systems.
  
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  
• Regular on-site presence required.
  
• Valid Government of Canada security clearance or eligibility to obtain one, in accordance with project security requirements.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency legislation, EBC Inc. has included the expected salary range for this role, which is $80,000–$115,000. Compensation within the range is determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, localization, and internal equity. Base salary is one component of EBC’s comprehensive total rewards offering, which may include performance-based incentives, extended health and wellness benefits, retirement savings programs, and career development opportunities.

Requirements
Ontario, Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects, or equivalent registration with OACETT or AATO, in good standing. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification required; formal ISO quality auditor training must be successfully completed before appointment. Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in civil engineering, including substantial QA/QC experience on major construction or federal infrastructure projects of similar size and complexity. Field experience on complex construction sites and large‑scale government infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of applicable standards and codes (e.g., CSA, ASTM, ACI, ISO standards). Excellent understanding of QA/QC processes and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Regular on‑site presence required. Valid Government of Canada security clearance or eligibility to obtain one, in accordance with project security requirements.
