Category Analyst

Your NewpanyOur client is a well-established organization within the utilities sector seeking an experienced Category Analyst to join their Supply Chain team. This is a 1-year contract opportunity based in Airdrie, Alberta, offering a hybrid work environment.Your New RoleAs the Category Analyst, you will support strategic sourcing and category management activities with a focus on civil and electrical construction. You will independently leadplex sourcing initiatives, including full-cycle RFx processes, high-value contract negotiations, supplier management, andmercial analysis.What You Need to Do

• Lead full-cycle RFx processes from development and market engagement through evaluation, negotiation, award, and contract execution.
• Manage strategic sourcing activities across civil construction, electrical construction, and other assigned direct-spend categories.
• Develop category and sourcing strategies aligned with operational and business requirements.
• Leadplex, high-value procurement initiatives and supportmercial and contract negotiations.
• Conduct supplier, market, pricing, andmercial analysis to support sourcing decisions.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, risk, and contractual obligations throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, legal, and supply chain.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, contract management, or a related area.
• Strong full-cycle RFx experience with the ability to independently leadplex sourcing processes.
• Experience managing high-value contracts andplex procurement initiatives. Experience with contracts valued at $100M+ is highly desirable.
• Utility supply chain experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience within civil construction, electrical construction, energy, utilities, or infrastructure is a strong asset.
• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business,merce, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Strong negotiation,mercial analysis, supplier management, and stakeholder management skills.
