Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation's Calgary and Sherwood Park offices are actively hiring for multiple Intern, IS Infrastructure & Operations positions to join the team. Depending on the position, these roles report to the Manager, IS Infrastructure & Network; the Manager, End User Services; the Supervisor, OT Infrastructure; or the Supervisor, Field Communications NOC, in Pembina's Information Services Unit.

Pembina's Information Services Unit manages and maintains the company's infrastructure, provides technical support, ensures data security and accessibility, implements new technology, strategies for future development, manages vendors, and ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations. These are 8-month intern roles starting May 2027 and running through to December 2027. Calgary-based positions work Monday through Friday, 7am–4pm, out of Pembina's Calgary office. The Field Communications position is based in Sherwood Park, AB and includes a mix of office and field work.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

• Perform role-specific responsibilities, which may include supporting Pembina's Infrastructure Modernization initiative through cloud migrations, data protection and virtualization;
• Assist with AI-related work such as the development of a self-service bot, automation of routine tasks, and scaling and managing knowledge management with AI;
• Support day-to-day work and learning activities related to the team or function, including infrastructure support and troubleshooting, using tools such as MS Active Directory / Entra ID, MS Azure, MS Windows Server OS, Veeam, Terraform, PowerShell, Microsoft Office, Copilot, Claude, Gemini and various virtualization technologies;
• Assist with End User support activities, which could involve computer and mobile device deployment, troubleshooting, application installation, and using ServiceNow for Incident and Request resolution;
• Support system maintenance including patching, backups, domain and account management; Tier 1 support; hardware support such as server and workstation setups; and supporting cybersecurity checks;
• Support Field Communications work related to telecommunications, networking and Operational Technology (OT) systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, incident support, technical documentation, as-built drawings, equipment installation and configuration, inventory support, and secure, reliable communications;
• Support Pembina’s safety culture of “Zero by Choice” by caring for yourself and others and following Pembina’s Life Saving Rules at all times;

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program such as Computer Science, Information Technology (including SAIT or NAIT), Cloud, Computer Engineering, Wireless Systems Engineering Technology, Telecommunications Engineering Technology, Networking Engineering Technology, or a related discipline;
• Interest in, or education or experience with, AI development, infrastructure, cloud technologies, data protection, virtualization, networks, electronics, telecommunications, OT, OT cyber security, automation or emerging technologies;
• Previous experience in IT, OT, telecommunications, electronics, or oil and gas would be considered an asset;
• Experience with network drawings, Excel, structured cabling, network documentation, or ticketing systems such as ServiceNow would be considered an asset;
• Willingness to work in both office and field environments, learn under supervision, and respond to time-sensitive operational needs;
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's Licence and comfort driving a full-sized pick-up truck on oilfield or haul roads would be considered an asset;
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and returning to school following the end of the work term;
• Field of study aligned with, or providing relevant transferable skills for, the role applied for;
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the term and required schedule, must be available to work the entire term (May to December 2027); and
• Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn in a structured environment, aligned with Pembina's values and safety expectations.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.

This position is scheduled to be posted until end of day: 10/07/2026. In rare circumstances, a position may be posted for less time if there has been significant interest in the role.
