Manager II, Operations

In this role, you will own the performance of your shift, driving productivity, quality, and efficiency while building a culture where every associate feels valued and supported. You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on problem solving, using data to inform decisions and coaching your team to deliver consistent results. Key job responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of frontline associates and process assistants, creating development plans, delivering structured feedback, and facilitating career growth conversations that strengthen your shift's talent pipeline.
- Own safety outcomes for your area by modeling protocols, proactively identifying risks, analyzing safety metrics, and integrating safety discussions into every pre-shift meeting and stand-up.
- Monitor and analyze key operational metrics across your shift, using data from multiple sources to identify trends, diagnose systemic issues, and implement solutions that improve productivity, quality, and cost performance.
- Collaborate across shifts and departments to share performance insights, align on priorities, and support site-wide initiatives that require coordinated execution.
- Plan and adjust staffing, resources, and processes to meet changing business demands, making real-time decisions that balance immediate operational needs with longer-term goals.

A day in the life
Your day begins with a review of overnight metrics and a safety-focused pre-shift meeting where you align your team on priorities. From there, you move between the floor and your workstation—coaching process assistants, troubleshooting bottlenecks, and adjusting labor plans as volume shifts. You partner with peers on adjacent shifts to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent standards. Throughout the shift, you use real-time data to make decisions, address associate questions, and drive continuous improvement in your area.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
