Distribution Center Manager

Canada’s premier distributor and full-service provider of commercial foodservice equipment and kitchen supplies is seeking an experienced, steady, and operational-minded Distribution Centre Manager to lead warehouse operations.

This senior operational leadership position plays a critical role in driving day-to-day warehouse performance, financial efficiency, and team development. Overseeing a close-knit operational team including leads and supervisors, the ideal candidate will bring strong workforce management skills, hands-on warehouse knowledge, and a solutions-focused mindset to maintain exceptional service standards, accurate inventory, and seamless freight distribution.

Position: Manager, Distribution Centre
Location: Chilliwack, BC
Position Type: Permanent Full-Time
Pay Rate: $65,000 – $75,000 / year + 10% Manager Bonus ($71,500 – $82,500 Total Compensation)
Schedule: Day Shift: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (overtime as operational needs require)

Eligibility:

Minimum 3 years of hands-on warehouse/distribution experience with direct supervisory oversight (managing 10+ staff members, including leads/supervisors)
Demonstrated experience managing daily receiving, shipping, inventory, local trucking/freight negotiations, and budget/KPI accountability
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (must-have) and familiarity with ERP systems (Traverse experience is an asset)
Valid Forklift License is preferred; physical capability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, order fulfillment, and timely shipping of products, freight, and supplies
Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~10 warehouse staff members (including team leads and supervisors), setting clear performance expectations and conducting routine evaluations
Work closely with HR to recruit, onboard, schedule, and maintain optimal staffing levels to meet operational demands
Manage freight relationships, serve as the primary warehouse contact for carriers, and negotiate local trucking/freight arrangements
Monitor daily workflow and measurement reports, proactively problem-solving operational bottlenecks and inventory errors alongside the Inventory Controller
Take full ownership of facility KPIs, review daily metrics, and collaborate with senior distribution leadership to establish annual budgets and drive efficiency initiatives
Inspect the facility regularly to ensure strict adherence to safety, housekeeping, and organizational standards
Handle operational administrative duties, utilize ERP/HRIS systems, and maintain clear communication across all levels from warehouse staff to executive management
Safely operate warehouse equipment and assist hands-on on the floor as required

Qualifications
3+ years of management/supervisory experience in a fast-paced distribution centre or high-volume warehouse environment
Direct experience leading teams, conducting performance reviews, and managing team development
Proven track record in warehouse budget management, financial drivers, and KPI oversight
High proficiency in MS Excel and computer literacy; ability to master ERP systems (Traverse experience considered an asset)
Strong leadership qualities—level-headed, steady, and capable of maintaining clear boundaries while fostering a positive team culture
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is considered an asset
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, operate material handling machinery, and lift up to 50 lbs
