About the Role

McKesson is seeking a Solution Architect for In-Office Services to design and guide secure, scalable, and high-performing workplace technology solutions across workstation technology, hardware standards, print services, and device lifecycle strategy. In this role, you will translate business and operational needs into practical architecture, roadmaps, and implementation guidance that improve performance, reliability, compatibility, and user experience. You will partner with enterprise architecture, engineering, product, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align solutions with enterprise standards, reduce technical debt, and enable sustainable technology outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Design workplace technology device lifecycle strategies that support current and future business needs.
• Define architecture patterns, standards, and guardrails for end-user devices, peripherals, monitors, and print services.
• Assess existing workplace technology environments, identify gaps, and recommend improvements for performance, compatibility, resilience, and supportability.
• Support fit-gap analysis and migration planning between current-state and future-state endpoint capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business, functional, and non-functional requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Evaluate technology options, hardware standards, configurations, and print management solutions for enterprise use.
• Contribute to reference architectures, implementation guidance, and governance reviews that improve consistency and reduce risk.
• Communicate architecture decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Basic Requirements

• 2 - 4+ years of relevant professional experience in solution architecture, digital workplace technology, infrastructure architecture, or related technology roles.
• Experience designing or supporting workstation device lifecycle strategies, including planning, deployment, optimization, refresh, and retirement.
• Experience with hardware standardization for end-user technology, such as monitors, docking station, peripherals, and workplace device configurations.
• Experience evaluating or implementing print management solutions in an enterprise environment.
• Experience optimizing device performance, compatibility, reliability, and maintainability across enterprise technology environments.
• Working knowledge of architecture frameworks, technical standards, security requirements, and implementation guardrails.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, product teams, enterprise architects, engineering, security, and infrastructure teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document architecture decisions and explain technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with modern workplace technology or infrastructure modernization.
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture, roadmapping, business capability planning, and technology governance.
• Experience supporting risk assessment, architecture reviews, standards definition, or technical decision forums.
• Familiarity with integration, network, security, compliance, or platform considerations that influence endpoint solutions.
• Ability to work independently across multiple small-to-medium initiatives with moderate autonomy.
• Experience creating reusable frameworks, reference implementations, or implementation playbooks.
• Demonstrated ability to improve solution quality through structured problem solving, systems thinking, and continuous improvement.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$81,500 - $108,600
