Position Overview

The Government Services Integration Cluster is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with strong hands-on experience in Informatica, data governance, metadata management, data cataloguing, and Data Marketplace solutions.

The successful candidate will support the implementation of Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) governance capabilities and contribute to the development of a Data Governance & Marketplace Proof of Concept (POC). The role will involve configuring Informatica governance capabilities, developing metadata ingestion processes, supporting data discovery and lineage, establishing business glossary and stewardship workflows, and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.

The candidate must be comfortable working in a 100% onsite environment in downtown Toronto and bridging business requirements with technical data governance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Informatica Governance & Marketplace Development

• Configure and implement Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) governance capabilities.
  
• Develop and maintain Data Marketplace solutions supporting self-service data discovery and consumption.

• Translate governance policies and requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Implement data governance standards, controls, frameworks, and best practices.

Proof of Concept (POC) Delivery

• Support the planning and execution of a phased Data Governance & Marketplace POC.
  
• Assist with requirements gathering, solution design, scope definition, and technical planning.
  
• Recommend MVP capabilities that can be delivered within aggressive timelines.
  
• Configure and demonstrate governance and marketplace functionality.
  
• Present functionality, technical capabilities, and business value to stakeholders.
  
• Support the transition of the POC toward production implementation.
  

Integration & Data Platforms

• Collaborate with data engineering and technical teams to integrate Informatica governance capabilities with:
  
• Azure Data Platform
  
• SQL Server
  
• Power BI
  
• Other enterprise data sources
  
• Integrate Informatica with both cloud and on-premises data sources.
  
• Develop or support metadata automation and API-based integrations where required.
  
• Work with data engineering teams to support metadata ingestion and cataloguing.
  

Agile Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Governance teams, and business stakeholders.
  
• Document requirements, user stories, technical designs, configurations, and governance processes.
  
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and delivery activities.
  
• Provide technical documentation, configuration guides, knowledge-transfer materials, and implementation support.
  

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Data Management / Data Governance Experience

• 5+ years of experience in data management, metadata management, or data governance solutions.
  

2. Informatica Experience

• 2+ years of hands-on Informatica experience.
  

3. Informatica Governance / Catalog Experience

Hands-on experience implementing at least one of the following:

• Informatica Data Catalog
  
• Informatica Data Governance & Catalog
  
• Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC)
  
• Informatica Data Marketplace
  

4. Data Governance & Metadata Expertise
