Senior Estimator - Electrical Utilites

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join our client, an established contractor delivering electrical utility, infrastructure, and industrial projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan.

This is a senior individual-contributor opportunity within a growing estimating team. The successful candidate will bring strong electrical construction estimating experience and have the ability to independently develop competitive bids across a range of project sizes and scopes. Apply today!

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for electrical construction and utility projects
• Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, and contract requirements
• Complete detailed material and labour takeoffs
• Develop labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
• Solicit, review, and analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and potential commercial issues
• Develop complete and competitive tender submissions
• Evaluate project constructability and execution requirements
• Coordinate with operations, project management, suppliers, and subcontractors as required
• Manage multiple estimates across varying project sizes and timelines
• Support the estimating team with electrical construction knowledge and expertise
• Contribute to larger and more complex pursuits across Western Canada

Requirements

• 6+ years of electrical construction estimating experience
• Strong experience independently preparing electrical estimates and tenders
• Experience with detailed takeoffs and quantity development
• Strong understanding of labour, material, and equipment pricing
• Experience reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Strong understanding of electrical construction and constructability
• Experience managing estimates from initial review through final submission
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader estimating team
• Valid driver's licence and satisfactory driver's abstract
• Ability to work from an Edmonton-area office
