Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Labour & Union Relations
Collective Bargaining & CBA Interpretation: Serve as the subject matter expert on collective agreement interpretation, application, and compliance across multiple plant agreements.
Union Relations & Grievances: Manage union-management relations, lead grievance resolution processes, conduct workplace investigations, and mediate complex labour disputes.
Bargaining Strategy: Partner with leadership on strategy, data analysis, and preparation for upcoming collective agreement negotiation rounds.
Data Analytics & Reporting: Analyze key HR metrics (turnover, attendance, safety) to build actionable leadership dashboards and reports.
Employee & Employer Relations
Leadership Coaching: Advise plant managers, supervisors, and department heads on performance management, constructive feedback, discipline, and workplace best practices.
Workforce Compliance: Ensure full alignment with BC Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and corporate policies.
Talent, Culture & Operational Leadership
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop site HR staff across multiple operational locations.
Qualifications
A perfect candidate will have:
6+ years of progressive HR experience within unionized environments
CPHR (Fully Designated)
Manufacturing/Industrial Background: A huge asset if your experience comes from a manufacturing, production, or heavy industrial environment.
Unionized Environment: Proven track record working directly within unionized plant environments, including hands-on experience with CBA administration and grievance handling.
