Key Responsibilities/Responsibilities:

Dura-Line is hiring for an Offline Operator at our manufacturing plant located in St. Albert, Alberta to help support the production of high-quality products. This is an entry-level position that offers a great opportunity for growth and development within our dynamic organization. The Offline Operator supports the Production and Materials activities by ensuring quality standards and supplying added value products to meet customer needs including grinding, reel assembly, pelletizing, material handling, etc. We are looking for team players, those who value working in a diverse environment, those committed to safety, and set the example with a positive mindset.

Schedule: Currently 12-hour shift, starting at 645pm with a 4 on, 3 off one week; and 4 off, 3 on the next week. The rotation is per 2 weeks (Week 1 is Mon/Tues/Fri/Sat and Week 2 is Sun/Wed/Thur). Seasonal requirements may change this schedule based on operational/production capacity.

SAFETY is priority!!! Safety Steel Toed Shoes are required (must be CSA approved). Shoe Reimbursement voucher provided upon start date.

Responsibilities:

• Custom Reel Building: Assemble custom-built plastic or steel reels to correct specifications and coiling requirements and ensure reels are ready for production at all times.

• Operate/utilize the grinder, grind any scrap, defective, or otherwise non-usable standard duct product, sticks, or on reels.

• Disassembly or any empty or non-used reels, and/or reel returns.

• Equipment Operation: Utilize various equipment including hydraulic reeler, electric reeler, lift truck, electric and manual pallet jack, as well as various hand tools (impact gun, Sawzall, conduit cutter).

• Plant support: Manage both grinded and pelletized silos and ensure that levels are maintained according to operational requirements.

• Loading super-sacks for shipping to other plants/locations as needed.

• Inspect products for quality non-conformance and promptly report any findings.

• Assist other employees in the disposal of scrap pipes.

• Keep equipment clean and report any defects promptly.

• Work Area Management: Maintain a neat and orderly work area to enhance efficiency.

• Safety Focus: Adhere to all safety requirements for the position, supporting a secure work environment.

• Team Player: Provide assistance to supervisors and colleagues, fostering a collaborative work environment.

• Adherence to Policies: Follow all company policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook.

• Accurate Paperwork Handling: Complete paperwork with precision, following all procedures and instructions meticulously.

• Perform additional duties as directed by management, showcasing adaptability and dedication to the team.

Requirements:

• Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in basic computer operations.

• Educational Skills: Reading, writing, and mathematical competency.

• Independence: Ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Physical Stamina: Comfortable sitting, standing, and walking on hard or uneven surfaces in various weather conditions for the duration of the shift.

• Physical Strength: Capable of lifting, carrying, and maneuvering items weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Team Spirit: Willingness to support each function of the manufacturing process.

The compensation for this position will start at $27.00 per hour. There is a night shift premium of an additional $2.50 per hour. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.

The compensation package may also include short and long-term incentive compensation.
