Site Leader – Fulfillment Operations

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established company in the consumer goods and e-commerce fulfillment sector, currently looking for a Site Leader to oversee its high-volume fulfillment operation in Markham.

This is a highly visible leadership position for an experienced warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, or e-commerce operations leader who enjoys working with people, data, and continuous improvement.

You will lead a team of managers and operational leaders while taking ownership of the site's day-to-day operations, KPIs, labour performance, budgeting, forecasting, P&L, customer service, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment where your decisions will have a direct impact on operational performance and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall day-to-day operations of a high-volume fulfillment centre serving B2C and B2B customers.
  
• Manage and develop 5–6 Area Managers, Team Leads, warehouse associates, and indirect employees.
  
• Oversee receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, replenishment, inventory, and returns.
  
• Monitor and improve key fulfillment KPIs, including units per hour, order accuracy, on-time shipment, labour productivity, inventory accuracy, and shrinkage.
  
• Own and manage the site's P&L, including labour, temporary labour, packaging, materials, equipment, maintenance, and other operating expenses.
  
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, labour planning, and volume planning.
  
• Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, variances, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  
• Use advanced Excel and data analysis to support operational decision-making.
  
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost control, and process efficiency.
  
• Coach, train, develop, and hold managers and teams accountable for performance.
  
• Conduct floor audits and ensure compliance with operational procedures and quality standards.
  
• Promote a strong culture of health & safety, accountability, customer service, and operational excellence.
  
• Plan labour and resources according to volume forecasts, SKU velocity, and business requirements.
  
• Ensure efficient use of warehouse space, labour, equipment, and other resources.
  
• Work directly with merchant and distributor clients to maintain high service levels and resolve operational issues.
  
• Identify bottlenecks and implement practical corrective actions.
  
• Support internal audits, training initiatives, and process improvements.
  
• Remain hands-on and visible on the warehouse floor when operationally required.
  

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is an experienced operations leader who combines strong people leadership with excellent analytical and financial skills.

Required:

• 3+ years of progressive management experience in fulfillment, warehouse, distribution, logistics, or e-commerce operations.
  
• Experience managing operations in a high-volume fulfillment or distribution environment.
  
• Experience with B2C fulfillment and deliveries; B2B experience is an asset.
  
• Proven experience managing teams through managers and/or team leads.
  
• Experience with P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, labour costs, and financial reporting.
  
• Strong understanding of operational KPIs and performance management.
  
• Advanced Excel skills and strong data analysis capabilities.
  
• Experience working with a WMS or warehouse management system.
  
• Experience with continuous improvement, process optimization, and operational problem-solving.
  
• Strong customer service and client relationship skills.
  
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or a related field is an asset.

Compensation & Benefits

• $110,000 – $130,000 annual base salary, based on experience.
  
• Performance and business-based bonus.
