Digital Architect - ON-SITE

Are you an experienced technical leader ready to shape high-impact public sector digital services? Our Edmonton client is seeking a Senior Digital Architect for an initial 24-month contract based fully on-site in downtown Edmonton. In this role, you will lead solution and enterprise architecture across modernization, data, and application platforms, driving digital transformation that directly supports vital public operations.

Responsibilities
• Develop current-state and target-state architecture roadmaps across business, application, data, and technical domains.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to development teams, support analysts, and vendor partners during implementation.
• Facilitate discovery workshops and analyze business requirements to produce technical specifications and process models.
• Support application management services by evaluating operational readiness, release plans, and system architecture.
• Participate in architecture governance boards to evaluate vendor deliverables and maintain technical compliance standards.
• Define integration patterns, interface designs, and architecture guardrails across cloud and data platforms.
• Communicate architectural decisions, technical trade-offs, and project risks to senior leadership and project stakeholders.

Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Senior Digital Architect or Solution Architect leading enterprise modernization initiatives.
• Strong technical background in enterprise architecture frameworks, cloud platforms, CI/CD automation, and DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear architecture artifacts, design documents, and technical evaluation reports.
• Extensive expertise in requirements gathering, business process modeling, and vendor oversight.
• Practical knowledge of data governance, analytics architectures, and emerging artificial intelligence platforms.
