As a Financial Analyst (Cost Analyst) on the Trade Expense Management team, you will manage end-to-end invoice reconciliation and cost allocation for 3rd party trade execution services. You will handle complex financial scenarios, investigate discrepancies, perform detailed cost driver analyses, and prepare financial postings. This position suits a candidate with strong analytical capabilities, solid Excel skills, and a fundamental understanding of Capital Markets products and accounting principles.

Responsibilities
Invoice Reconciliation & Allocation: Reconcile 3rd party trade execution invoices and calculate internal business allocations following agreed business methodologies.
Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate reconciliation variances, coordinate resolutions directly with vendors and trading desks, document best practice variances, and submit them for team lead approval.
Financial Postings & Payment: Prepare allocation templates, post transactions to financial systems, and arrange vendor payments via Accounts Payable or manual payment processes.
Special Accounting Scenarios: Manage complex financial treatments including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
Reporting & Cost Analysis: Prepare financial reports, respond to inquiries from front office and finance stakeholders, and analyze cost trends to highlight cost-saving opportunities.
Systems & Testing: Perform business analysis and user testing for onboarding new invoices or optimizing current system workflows in REVPORT.
Projects & Automation: Support team projects focused on process improvement, reporting transparency, and workflow automation.

Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements
BBA / BComm / BSc / BA 1 - 2 years experience working in a Capital Markets, Securities Trading, Brokerage or similar environment
Knowledge of basic accounting concepts Knowledge of the firm's financial systems and booking processes in relation to assigned invoices
Knowledge of products and services in relation to assigned invoices
Ability to communicate information to trading business and senior management
Highly organized with an attention to detail and an ability to analyze information
Advanced knowledge of Excel, VBA and SQL

Nice-to-Have Requirements
Familiarity with global 3rd party trade execution service providers, including Brokers, Exchanges, Clearing and Settlement Agents, Securities Depositories, Custodians, and Regulators.
Broad understanding of Capital Markets organizational structures (Front Office Sales/Trading, Middle Office, Product Control, Back Office Operations, and Compliance).

Summary
Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join their Trade Expense Management team for a 6-month contract in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and efficient processing of 3rd Party Trade Execution Invoices using REVPORT, a global central utility. Working closely with Control, Governance, and Business Support Functions, you will ensure full invoice processing coverage, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide maximum transparency to supported businesses regarding trade expense drivers, costs, and volumes.
