Clinical Business Analyst Patient Access

Job Summary:

The Clinical Business Analyst - Patient Access plays a critical role in bridging healthcare operations and information technology by focusing on patient access processes such as registration and scheduling within acute care health systems. This role involves gathering and analyzing requirements, facilitating workshops, designing business processes, and supporting health information system implementations to improve patient access services.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyze requirements related to patient access including registration and scheduling.
• Facilitate workshops with healthcare providers to identify and articulate business and system requirements.
• Conduct use case analysis, business process analysis, and detailed design activities.
• Develop comprehensive business analysis documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders across all levels.
• Support health information systems (EHR/CIS) implementation projects focused on patient access in acute care settings.
• Manage multiple project streams or activities simultaneously.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• University degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Clinical Business Analyst or Clinical Informatics Analyst focused on patient access (registration and scheduling).
• At least 5 years of experience working with acute care Health Information Systems (EHR/CIS) and healthcare operations related to patient access.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in health information systems/CIS implementation projects within Canadian acute care healthcare systems.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• 6+ years experience with computerized provider order entry (CPOE), order sets, clinical documentation, or ancillary services (Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Laboratory).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.
• 3+ years of facilitation experience leading workshops with healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated ability to work with high self-direction and strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing multiple teams and projects concurrently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite and Atlassian's JIRA software in a project environment.
• Previous experience within public health authorities with understanding of public healthcare policies and practices.

• Work requires collaboration with diverse healthcare stakeholders and may involve multi-project responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills in both official languages are strongly preferred.
• Experience working within the Canadian public healthcare system context is essential.
