Our client is a retirement home provider. They are looking for a Accounting Assistant- 6 Month Contract to join their team!

About the Opportunity

• Bookkeeping for related private entities
• Daily cash reporting
• A/R duties
  • Review and process billing and adjustments as necessary to ensure all invoices, bank deposit and credit memos have been posted
  • Liaising with staff at the facility level for any queries or adjustments as necessary, reconciling the accounts, and preparing cheques for resident refunds
• A/P duties
  • Maintenance of master vendor account list; including setting up new accounts and making changes to existing accounts
  • Scanning and processing AP invoices; Manage electronic approval process for second level approvals
  • Reviewing posted invoices, coding, and allocation
  • Process weekly cheque runs, matching cheques to documents and mailing cheques to suppliers
  • Regularly reviewing AP invoices and following up on unprocessed stagnant invoices
  • Reconciliations to vendor statements and other assistance to accountants with vendor issues and requests
• Bank deposit duties
• Filing monthly GST/HST returns
• Assist the finance team in other tasks as needed

About You

• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Experience with Sage Intacct an asset
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Effective organization skills
• Foundational knowledge in accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Self-disciplined and able to work independently with a sense of urgency
• Familiarity with accounting systems
• Strong attention to detail, results oriented
• Team player and adaptable to change in the workplace

Salary Range

$50,000 - $55,000 / year
