Job description

Adecco is currently hiring a Cybersecurity Specialist for a contract opportunity supporting a large-scale enterprise cybersecurity environment in Ottawa, ON. This role is ideal for experienced cybersecurity professionals with expertise in Tenable Nessus, vulnerability management, security engineering, risk assessment, and enterprise network security.

  • Pay Rate: $80 000 - $115 000/year
  • Location: Ottawa, ON
  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Job type: Temporary 3 years| Full-time

Responsibilities:
Vulnerability Management & Security Operations

  • Administer, configure, and optimize Tenable Nessus vulnerability management solutions.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning, analysis, remediation validation, and reporting activities.
  • Develop and improve scanning strategies, policies, and vulnerability management workflows.
  • Conduct risk-based vulnerability assessments and provide remediation recommendations.

Security Engineering & Integrations

  • Design and maintain vulnerability management architectures and supporting documentation.
  • Integrate vulnerability management tools with SIEM, asset management, endpoint security, and other cybersecurity platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Technical Advisory & Stakeholder Support

  • Provide technical guidance and support to cybersecurity and infrastructure teams.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings, project planning sessions, and technical reviews.
  • Develop technical documentation, implementation plans, operating procedures, and security recommendations.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Support compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, security reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with security awareness, documentation, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Network Administration, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or security engineering.
  • Extensive experience with Tenable Nessus and enterprise vulnerability management programs.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining vulnerability scanning infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of CVSS scoring, vulnerability prioritization, and remediation strategies.
  • Experience supporting the full vulnerability management lifecycle, including scanning, analysis, remediation, validation, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CIS Controls, or similar standards.
  • Experience integrating security tools, APIs, SIEM solutions, and asset management platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior cybersecurity professionals is considered an asset.
  • Current Secret Security Clearance, or held a Secret Clearance within the last 6 months.
  • Legally authorized to work and reside in Canada.
