Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a similar roleSound understanding of welding metallurgyMust have good interpersonal and communication skillsGood problem-solving skillsMust be willing to work shifts and be flexible (including overtime on short notice)Ability to work well with fellow team members Critical Success Factors:Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental SystemsEnsure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act Responsibilities:Resolve all welding concerns with quality, safety and efficiencyContribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activitiesSupport buy off's when requiredEstablish, maintain and implement welding parameters to support production and Quality assuranceMaintain a sound understanding of customers product and engineering specificationsParticipate in problem solving activitiesProvide support to all Departments for weld related issuesWorking Conditions100% plant floor (PPE required)Employee RelationsCommunicate effectively with employees and management staff as requiredPerform compulsory overtime as necessary and in accordance with legislative requirementsPerform other duties as assigned by your supervisorComply, ensure and enforce Rules of Conduct (Sign off agreement) in your hire packageProvide and/or participate in training as requiredComply with company rules, regulations and policies as stated in the Employee Handbook Comply with the Employee Standards Act, 2000Effort/Physical DemandsCommunication with employees, peers and managementOvertime as requiredHealth and Safety ResponsibilitiesMust comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) particularly the "Duties of Workers" as stated in section 28Must comply with Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures according to Martinrea Employee HandbookMust use/wear equipment, personal protective equipment or certain clothing as required by the companyComply with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)Comply with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)Always beware of moving lift trucksAll employees are prohibited from working under dies which are suspended from hoists, cranes or forkliftsQuality Assurance:Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your supervisorRecord and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as requiredComply with Quality Assurance policies and proceduresParticipate and contribute to effective production efficiencyBenefitsWorking in a great team environmentMedical, Dental and Vision InsuranceSafety shoe and prescription safety glasses reimbursementSupplier discountsTuition reimbursement and training opportunities
