Position Overview
The Ministry of Transportation is seeking a Senior Automation Developer / Automation Test Developer with extensive experience in test automation development, automated testing tools, API testing, performance testing, Agile/DevOps environments, and quality assurance.
The successful candidate will identify opportunities to automate software processes, design and execute automated QA tests, develop automation scripts and frameworks, investigate software issues, and work closely with QA analysts, software developers, business stakeholders, and other project teams.
The role requires strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Playwright, Selenium, Katalon, Micro Focus UFT, Micro Focus LoadRunner 12.5, JMeter, ReadyAPI/Postman, and automated API testing, together with experience in Microsoft Azure, DevOps, Agile, AODA accessibility testing, databases, web services, and enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for automation within software processes and workflows.
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated QA tests.
- Design and write automated test scripts and reusable test cases.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks.
- Use automated testing tools to validate application functionality and quality.
- Investigate software defects and testing-related problems and work with QA analysts and developers to identify and implement solutions.
- Provide advice and recommendations regarding testing strategies, test plans, testing tools, and resources required for testing.
- Plan, organize, and implement testing efforts for large and small systems.
- Plan and execute testing in both Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-GUI environments.
- Execute systems integration testing, specialized testing, functional testing, non-functional testing, load testing, performance testing, and other system-level testing.
- Support and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Identify, document, track, and support resolution of bugs and quality issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and end-users to understand workflows and requirements and determine appropriate automation solutions.
- Gather and document requirements for automation initiatives.
- Provide organized automated application testing to support development, implementation, and remediation efforts.
- Create, review, and execute test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
- Work within Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall development environments.
- Meet deadlines while managing competing priorities and maintaining effective client and stakeholder relationships.

Automated Testing – 40%
