Hybrid Role In Winnipeg, MB.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Customer Support, and external suppliers, the Procurement Specialist helps maintain optimal inventory levels, improve operational efficiency, and mitigate supply chain risks in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Essential Functions Procurement & Supplier Management Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders to support production schedules and operational requirements.

Monitor supplier performance, delivery commitments, lead times, and order fulfillment.

Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding order status, shortages, schedule changes, and quality concerns.

Assist with supplier sourcing, evaluation, and qualification activities.

Support supplier negotiations and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.

Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing data within ERP systems.

Inventory Management Monitor inventory levels and ensure sufficient stock availability to meet production and customer requirements.

Analyze inventory trends and recommend actions to optimize inventory carrying costs and reduce excess or obsolete materials.

Material Planning & Cross-Functional Coordination Support demand forecasting, materials planning, and production scheduling activities.

Monitor open purchase orders and proactively identify potential supply chain risks.

Support in developing and maintaining planning parameters, including lead times, safety stock levels, and reorder points.

Support new product introductions and engineering change activities by coordinating material availability and supplier readiness.

Competencies Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reporting and data analysis.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Epicor, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability.

Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and customer service.

Up to 10% travel.

Education Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.

Professional supply chain designation (SCMP, APICS, CPIM, CSCP) is considered a strong asset.

Experience Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, inventory management, logistics, or a related role.

Experience in a manufacturing, automation, technology, healthcare, or regulated industry environment preferred.

Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management software.
