Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Enterprise Strategy Business Analyst.
Job Overview
Reporting to Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives, this position is responsible to support the Enterprise Strategy Team in developing insights, analysis and materials that inform enterprise strategy, business planning and strategic decision-making. This role carries out research and analysis, monitors business and industry developments, supports strategic planning activities and helps translate complex information into clear and actionable insights. The Business Analyst works collaboratively across OPG, building relationships with cross functional teams to gather and share information, validate analysis and support delivery of high-quality presentation materials.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide business process support and analytical expertise to the Department Supervisor/Manager, , identifying opportunities to improve how strategic information, analysis and reporting are collected, organized and presented.
- Conduct research and monitor trends industry, market, economic, regulatory, policy, and technology developments, impacting the energy sector using a structured and analytical approach, identifying opportunities, risks, and implications for the business.
- Gather, organize and analyze information related to market intelligence, business management, performance reporting, benchmarking activities, and new business development opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams across OPG to develop business insights, support informed decision-making, and advance corporate strategic objectives.
- Develop business intelligence summaries, briefing notes, presentations, and decision-support materials by synthesizing complex and often unstructured information from multiple sources into clear, actionable insights.
- Support the development and refresh of corporate and business strategies, plans and strategic initiatives. Prepare and deliver reports on business performance measures, including analysis of actual results against targets, trends, key metrics, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings, workshops, and intelligence-sharing sessions; track action items, maintain documentation, and support project management and strategic initiative activities.
- Communicate business intelligence findings, analytical insights, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders at various levels of the organization, including senior leadership and executives, while supporting training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Completion of a four-year university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related discipline. An MBA or relevant industry experience is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years and up to 4 years of progressive experience performing business analysis, strategic analysis, market intelligence, or performance reporting within a complex organizational environment.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing business processes, operational performance, and organizational data to identify trends, opportunities, efficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Experience researching industry, market, or sector developments and translating findings into business intelligence summaries, briefings, presentations, and actionable recommendations for decision-makers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, with the ability to synthesize complex, unstructured information from multiple sources into clear and concise insights.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, presentations, business cases, briefing materials, and executive-level communication using tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and related business applications.
- Knowledge of planning, budgeting, performance reporting, business economics, benchmarking methodologies, decision-support systems, financial modelling concepts, and business information systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams, facilitate discussions, coordinate activities, and present information effectively to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.

Important Information
The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
