Your opportunity:

The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges at the University of Toronto, concerning virtually all matters relating to Arts and Science students. Our department members are dedicated to aid all students to the greatest extent, to make their university experience as smooth and seamless as possible. We coordinate personal, financial, and academic counselling, registration.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Transfer Credit, the incumbent supports the administration and coordination of transfer credit assessment processes within the Faculty of Arts & Science by assisting the Transfer Credit Office with coordinating the collection, review and processing of transfer credit documentationi from students, academic units, and domestic and international institutions, assisting with transfer credit assessment and registration, and responding to student and stakeholder enquiries in a timely manner.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Applying established standards when administering a process for consistent evaluation oftransfer credits
  • Analyzing domestic and international academic documents to assess credentials and determine transfer credit against equivalencies
  • Liaising with contacts to ensure consistent administration procedures are followed
  • Probing for information to establish needs
  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Creating and updating student records.
  • Updating and maintaining database records.
  • Writing routine documents and correspondence
  • Following rules and procedural instructions when receiving, sorting and distributing mail

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of recent and related experience with the administration of evaluating courses from other institutions for transfer credits.
  • Experience providing front-line service to students.
  • Experience assessing courses from domestic and international institutions.
  • Demonstrated experience applying University policy and procedures and ensuring consistent of policies.
  • Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and understanding of domestic and international educational systems .
  • Experience and sound knowledge of best practices in transfer credit and enrolment.
  • Experience in updating and maintaining database records.
  • Demonstrated experience with Rocket Shuttle, Slate, Degree Explorer, Mobility Online and ROSI or similar systems.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office , internet applications, email, mail merge, and database management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to review and assess complex documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
