Job description

The role of the Float Interventionist is to execute intervention plans developed and supervised by BCBAs / OTs / SLPs to clients in care of Monarch House.

  • The Float Interventionist may work within an interdisciplinary team to support skill acquisition and/or decrease maladaptive behaviors while providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast paced and frequently changing environment.

The Float Interventionist is primarily responsible for ensuring adequate client coverage at all times for reasons such as but not limited to absent BIs / OTAs / SLPAs conflicts due to family or team meetings, training workshops, lunch coverage and general staff shortages. Job setting: Center-based, multi-work location.

Fleetwood, Guildford, and Langley clinics Wage: $21-24/hr Weekly Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9AM - 7PM Take an inside look at what you will do each day: Execute intervention plans developed and supervised by an an interdisciplinary team for clients in the care of Monarch House.

Ensure an engaging and positive client experience in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment.

Maintain adequate client coverage at all times, addressing needs such as absent instructor therapists, family or team meeting conflicts, training workshops, lunch coverage, and general staff shortages.

Uses systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support client in changing their behaviour Contributes to the development of programs established by the clinical team to teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and youth in a 1:1 and/or small group setting Understand the functions of behavior and responds appropriately and safely when situations arise Adhere to all clinical training, procedures, and protocols Ability to adapt to changing conditions and/or routine and provide creative solutions Responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the client Support clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, toileting, and eating Responsible for maintaining the well-being and safety Here is what you will need to be successful 1+ years experience working with children and youth with complex needs and/or developmental disabilities Pursuing or completed education in ABA or a related field or pursuing education in Behaviour Analysis (programs that meet Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)® or BCaBA® certification requirements) Psychology, Speech or linguistics, occupational therapy or kinesiology.

Education and demonstrated ability in ethical and professional practice Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months Strong verbal and written English communication skills Legally authorized to work in Canada Must be open to travelling on a daily basis with access to a reliable vehicle / public transportation Preferred Qualifications Autism Spectrum Disorder specific coursework, training or workshops an asset Experience working with clients who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities What can Monarch House offer you We are proud of our friendly environment, supportive leadership and the knowledgeable team members who make it all possible.
