About the Role
As a Chef at The Berkeley, you will play an important role in planning and preparing delicious, high-quality meals while following established recipes, menus, and meal plans.
You will bring strong culinary skills, organization, and attention to detail to every service while helping create an enjoyable dining experience for our residents.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes, menus, and meal plans.
- Complete daily food preparation efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented with attention to quality, consistency, and detail.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Work independently with limited supervision while contributing positively to the overall kitchen team.
- Support other kitchen team members as required to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Follow established standards and procedures while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
What We're Looking for

Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience working as a Chef.
- Culinary certificate or equivalent experience.
- Red Seal is considered an asset.
- Experience leading a team.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, culinary best practices, and kitchen procedures.
- Baking experience and skills are considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail while working quickly and efficiently.
- Excellent multitasking, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm and productive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Motivated team player who takes pride in creating an exceptional dining experience.
