Imaging Specialist - Print Production SpecialistFull-Time | Evening Shift- 3:30pm to midnightThe Print Production Specialist is responsible for producing high-quality customer orders from file receipt through final delivery. This hands-on role focuses on digital print production, finishing, bindery, quality control, packaging, and basic prepress activities.The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced production environment, enjoys working with production equipment, takes pride in delivering accurate and professional work, and consistently meets customer deadlines. Experience with large-format printing and finishing is considered an asset but is not the primary focus of the role.Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Print ProductionOperate digital presses and production equipment to produce customer orders accurately and efficiently.Set up, run, and monitor print jobs to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout production.Verify job specifications and production requirements before printing.Monitor colour consistency, image quality, and output accuracy.Prioritize work and manage production schedules to meet customer deadlines.Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.Monitor inventory levels of paper, toner, and production supplies and notify management when replenishment is required.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.Finishing & BinderyComplete finishing and bindery processes including:CuttingTrimmingFoldingCoil BindingCerlox BindingStaplingLaminatingMountingPackagingOperate finishing equipment including cutters, laminators, booklet makers, and bindery equipment.Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy, appearance, and quality.Package completed jobs for customer pickup, delivery, or shipment.Maintain finishing equipment and work areas in accordance with company standards.Basic Prepress & File PreparationReview customer-supplied files to ensure they are ready for production.Perform basic preflight checks including:Page size and layoutBleeds and trim marksImage resolutionEmbedded fontsFile specificationsMake minor file corrections using Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.Troubleshoot common file issues prior to production.Escalate complex design or artwork issues when necessary.Collaborate with Project Advisors and production team members to ensure customer expectations and production requirements are aligned.Large Format Production (Asset)Assist with the production of banners, posters, signage, decals, wall graphics, and presentation materials.Operate large-format printers, laminators, and finishing equipment as required.Perform mounting, trimming, assembly, and packaging of large-format products.Assist with display graphics, signage, and specialty projects.Experience operating Zünd cutters and large-format finishing equipment is considered an asset.Quality AssuranceConduct quality control inspections throughout all stages of production.Verify finished products meet work order specifications and customer requirements.Identify and resolve production issues before order completion.Minimize waste through attention to detail and adherence to production procedures.Continuously seek opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.Team Support & CollaborationSupport coworkers across production departments as workload demands.Work closely with Project Advisors and production team members to ensure successful project execution.Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues.Assist with training and onboarding of new team members when required.Contribute ideas for process improvements and operational efficiencies.Skills & ExperienceRequiredExperience in digital print production, print finishing, bindery, commercial printing, or a related production environment.Experience operating production equipment in a deadline-driven environment.Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Creative Cloud applications for basic file preparation and troubleshooting.Strong understanding of print production workflows and quality standards.Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain standing for extended periods.PreferredExperience operating digital production presses.Experience with large-format printing and finishing equipment.Experience using Fiery, EFI, Onyx, or similar print workflow software.Knowledge of colour management and digital print workflows.Experience operating Zünd cutters, flatbed cutters, or similar finishing equipment.Experience in signage, display graphics, or commercial print production environments.Knowledge of offset printing processes and production workflows.Key AttributesThe successful candidate will be:Detail-Oriented – Maintains a high level of accuracy and quality in all work.Reliable – Dependable, accountable, and committed to meeting deadlines.Coachable – Open to learning new skills, systems, and processes.Problem-Solving – Proactively identifies and resolves production challenges.Team-Oriented – Collaborates effectively and supports coworkers when needed.Customer-Focused – Understands the importance of delivering quality work and exceptional service.Adaptable – Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.Hands-On – Enjoys working with equipment, tools, and production processes.
