PTW is looking for a Financial Systems Analyst to join our IT team. This is a junior-to-intermediate analyst role where you'll use your Finance knowledge and analytical skills to understand business needs, analyze processes and systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and help develop practical technology solutions.

You'll work closely with Finance, Operations, IT, and branch teams, connecting the people who use our financial processes with the systems and technology that support them.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

Business & Financial Analysis

• Analyze financial processes, workflows, transactions, and system functionality to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

• Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges, requirements, and desired outcomes.

• Gather information, analyze requirements, and translate business needs into clear recommendations.

• Investigate issues and identify root causes.

• Evaluate potential solutions and help assess their impact on business processes.

• Analyze financial and operational data to support decision-making.

• Develop an understanding of how financial data flows through PTW's systems and processes.

• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve how information is captured, processed, and reported.

Financial Systems

• Support the analysis and ongoing improvement of financial systems and applications.

• Work with IT and Finance to investigate system issues and determine appropriate solutions.

• Analyze how financial processes interact with ERP, accounting, billing, and other business systems.

• Support system enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and implementations.

• Help identify opportunities to improve system functionality, efficiency, and user experience.

• Support the evaluation of system changes and their impact on business processes.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Review existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.

• Analyze manual and repetitive activities and identify opportunities for automation.

• Map current-state and future-state processes.

• Research and evaluate potential process and technology solutions.

• Develop recommendations for process improvements.

• Support the implementation of improvements and monitor results.

• Help standardize financial processes across PTW's branches and locations.

Requirements & Stakeholder Support

• Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.

• Work with Finance and business users to understand their needs and translate them into clear requirements for IT and vendors.

• Ask questions, challenge assumptions, and identify gaps in current processes.

• Facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Maintain requirements, action items, issues, and project documentation.

• Communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders.

• Build strong working relationships with Finance, Operations, IT, and branch teams.

Testing & Implementation

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Develop test scenarios and validate system functionality and changes.

• Investigate defects and work with IT to resolve issues.

• Support system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.

• Assist with implementation documentation, training, and communications.

• Monitor system changes to ensure they meet business requirements.

Data & Reporting

• Analyze financial and operational data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities.

• Support the development and improvement of reports and dashboards.

• Use tools such as Excel and Power BI to analyze and present information.

• Help ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and reliable.

• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting processes, and accessibility.

• Support business users with reporting and data-related requirements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

We're looking for an analytical, curious, and business-minded professional who understands Finance and wants to build their career in financial systems and technology.

• 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, accounting, AP, AR, billing, financial operations, financial systems, or a related field.

• Experience analyzing business or financial processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.

• Experience working with ERP, accounting, billing, or other financial systems.

• Strong understanding of financial processes, including AP, AR, invoicing, billing, and accounting transactions.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and develop practical recommendations.

• Experience gathering information and translating business needs into clear requirements.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.

• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data.

ASSETS

• Previous Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Financial Analyst, or Process Analyst experience.

• Power BI, SQL, or other data and reporting experience.

• Experience with ERP or financial system implementations.

• Experience gathering and documenting business or system requirements.

• Experience with UAT and system testing.

• Experience with system integrations or financial data flows.

• Experience with process mapping or workflow analysis.

• Experience supporting automation initiatives.

• Experience working in a multi-branch or multi-location organization.

• Experience in construction, industrial, oil and gas, or field services.

• Experience with job costing or project accounting.
