Summary

We are passively seeking a Mainframe Developer to join our team on a 1-year fixed term to support the development, maintenance, modernization, and optimization of enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, z/OS, and VSAM, along with exposure to modern development practices, source control, automation, and DevOps tools.

What will your typical day look like?

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable mainframe solutions.
• Support batch processing, online transaction systems, and database management within z/OS environments.
• Perform application enhancements, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, architects, and QA teams to deliver projects successfully.
• Participate in modernization initiatives, integrating mainframe applications with contemporary technologies and development practices.
• Utilize Git, Jenkins, and DevOps tools to support source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and development standards across the application lifecycle.

You are someone with these required skills, experience & qualifications:

• Experience as a Mainframe Developer or Senior Mainframe Developer.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS development.
• Experience working in IBM z/OS environments.
• Knowledge of VSAM file structures and data management.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

It would be great for you to have some of these nice to haves as well:

• Experience with Git, Jenkins, and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to mainframe modernization initiatives and cloud integration projects.
• Knowledge of CI/CD implementation for mainframe applications.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration technologies and API-based architectures.
• Prior experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical initiatives.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $138,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
