Application Solution Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Solutions Consultant to join a public transit IT initiative. You will play a pivotal role in providing application support, modernization, and development for a major Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and radio communications replacement project. Working closely with the Project Leader, Solution Designers, and software developers, you will drive full-lifecycle software engineering tasks for critical transit operational systems.

Responsibilities
SDLC & Project Planning: Develop detailed work plans for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities to ensure project completion within defined timelines and budgets.

Full-Lifecycle Engineering: Participate actively across all stages of the software engineering lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture design, source code implementation, unit testing, integration, and system testing.

Architecture & Reliability: Collaborate with Solution Designers and developers to ensure solutions meet strict performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.

Code Quality: Participate in code reviews to maintain high quality standards, readability, and regulatory/technical compliance.

Prototyping & Support: Rapidly prototype, implement, and debug solutions for complex integration challenges.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience

Senior Full Stack Experience: 8+ years of experience with React (including MUI) and Node.js, with a track record of building large-scale applications with complex API and data integrations.

Event-Driven Architecture: Proven, hands-on experience using Apache Kafka within complex, enterprise-level application environments.

Relational Databases: 7+ years of experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.

UI/UX Excellence: Strong front-end development skills, including component architecture design, responsive UI implementation, and translating design specs into polished interfaces.

Core Competencies: Exceptional structured programming capabilities, strong organizational skills, and outstanding written and verbal communication.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Hands-on development experience with Ruby on Rails or Go (Golang).

Experience with transit systems, bus radio infrastructure, or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
