Canada's National Ballet School (NBS) is excited to invite applications for the position of Coordinator, Business Operations and Government Relations.

This is an exciting opportunity to support government relations activities, coordinate strategic projects, and contribute to initiatives that expand NBS’s community impact, strengthen partnerships, and support new revenue opportunities. NBS has 300+ employees supporting programs ranging from professional ballet training and community engagement to groundbreaking health initiatives.

The Role: Reporting to the Director, Business Operations and Government Relations, the Coordinator plays an important role in supporting government relations activities and coordinating a diverse range of special projects and initiatives across NBS. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will support grant development and reporting, research funding and partnership opportunities, coordinate special projects and community activations, and contribute to the development and stewardship of relationships with partners and stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

You will work closely with colleagues across NBS and with external partners, contributing to projects that demonstrate NBS’s relevance, expand its broader community impact, and build capacity for new revenue generation. Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid role with an option to work from home two days per week (Monday and Friday).

Occasional evening, early morning, and weekend work may be required for performances, special events, committee meetings, and community activations. Why You'll Love This Role: You contribute to projects that expand NBS’s impact within the community and beyond the School You gain exposure to government relations, grant development, partnerships, special projects, and revenue development initiatives You work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners across a diverse range of initiatives Every day brings new opportunities to research, coordinate, problem-solve, and build relationships You become part of a creative, collaborative, and mission-driven organization committed to the transformative power of dance What You'll Do: Support Government Relations: Assist with government relations activities and contribute to maintaining strong relationships with government stakeholders and partners Support Grant Development: Assist with the development of grant proposals and ongoing reporting requirements, ensuring materials are accurate, compelling, and submitted within required timelines Research Funding Opportunities: Conduct research to identify new funding opportunities aligned with NBS’s strategic priorities and support the development of related opportunities Coordinate Special Projects: Working closely with project team members, coordinate the development and successful execution of a variety of strategic special projects Track Project Finances: Track and process special project expenses and revenues while maintaining accurate documentation and records Provide Project Administration: Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, document preparation, communications, scheduling, and other administrative requirements to support successful project delivery Support Partnerships: Cultivate and steward new and existing partners and core contributors for various initiatives, contributing to increased engagement and impact Support Events and Activations: Support special project events, community activations, and other activities taking place at NBS and in the broader community Conduct Research: Research markets, prospective partners, vendors, best practices, and other areas relevant to special projects and revenue development activities Support Process Improvement: Work with NBS departments to identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, project tracking, and partnership stewardship Maintain Confidentiality: Handle sensitive personal and business information with discretion and ensure confidential information is only shared with authorized individuals Represent NBS Professionally: Represent NBS and key strategic projects with professionalism, sound judgment, diplomacy, and a high standard of service What You Bring: First and foremost, we value strong communication, collaboration, initiative, and a genuine interest in contributing to the arts and broader community.

A university degree in Fine Arts/Dance, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Arts Management, or a related discipline is required 3 years of relevant education and experience in arts administration, business, or a related field is considered a strong asset Minimum of three years of experience working in the dance or arts and culture sector, with a particular focus on administration Strong writing skills with exceptional attention to detail Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines Ability to take initiative, work independently, and make sound decisions with minimal supervision Collaborative and approachable, with the ability to work effectively with diverse internal and external contributors Flexibility and enthusiasm for taking on a diverse range of projects, tasks, and responsibilities High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to work with confidential information Significant working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Fluency in French is considered a strong asset Availability to work occasional evenings, early mornings, and weekends as required Compensation: Salary Range: $47,000 - $52,000 annually, commensurate with experience and aligned with internal equity.
