#2627-342 BX Elementary School 0.8 FTE position in the area of School Based Resource TeacherMonday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday This temporary contract position is effective November 30 2026 or earlier, and will continue until June 25, 2027 or the return of the incumbent whichever comes first. While all applicants will be considered, preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry. The starting annual salary for a school teacher position ranges from $63,670 to $116,190, with placement on the range based on the length of service and qualifications in accordance in accordance with the collective agreement. Positions of Special Responsibility receive an additional pay allowance in accordance with the collective agreement based on the levels 1, 2, or 3. Please contact Danielle Calder, Principal, if you have questions relating to this position.School Based Resource TeacherSuccessful applicants must meet the following criteria:Possesses a valid BC Teaching CertificateEligibility for membership in the BC Teachers Regulation BranchMasters Degree in Special Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Inclusive EducationFormal training in Level B assessment5 successful years of classroom teaching experience2 successful years of special education teaching experience, including long term or regular TOCassignments in Special EducationExperience in collaboratively developing Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students with a varietyof educational needs (autism [ASD], fetal alcohol spectrum disorder [FASD], Learning Disability,academic remediation, behavioural challenges, etc.) within a multi-disciplinary teamDemonstrated knowledge of:Inclusionary practicesMinistry of Education, Special Education categories criteriaSuccessful behavioural management programming (positive behaviour support, functionalbehaviour assessment, etc.)Wide range of teaching and management strategiesComputer technology to support and enhance learningThis assignment supports a wide range of students’ educational programming needs. Responsibilities willinclude case management, diagnostic assessment, planning, evaluation and implementation ofindividualized education plans (IEPs) for students’ either claimed or unclaimed within the Ministry ofEducation categories, as well as supervision and direction of Certified Education Assistants (CEAs)assigned within a school. The assignment will require collaborative planning within a multi-disciplinaryteam including classroom teachers, school based personnel, itinerant district specialists, and ProvincialOutreach Program staff. School based resource teacher’s are expected to work in classrooms supportingclassroom teachers and students.
