Salary : $75,000–$80,000 per year

A respected and growing residential construction company in Calgary, AB is looking for an experienced Foreman Carpenter to lead its carpentry crew. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson ready to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced, high-quality homebuilding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the carpentry team on residential job sites
  • Interpret blueprints and construction plans to guide work processes
  • Ensure high-quality, timely completion of framing, finishing, and formwork
  • Maintain site safety, cleanliness, and compliance with regulations
  • Collaborate with other trades, contractors, and site supervisors
  • Track inventory, place material orders, and manage jobsite tools and equipment
  • Provide hands-on support when needed to meet deadlines
  • Mentor and train junior carpenters and apprentices

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience in residential carpentry
  • Previous leadership or foreman-level experience on construction sites
  • Strong understanding of carpentry tools, materials, and building methods
  • Able to read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings
  • Effective leadership, communication, and time management skills
  • Familiar with safety and construction standards in Alberta
  • Physically fit to perform manual labor and work in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred)
  • Preferred Certifications (Not Mandatory)

  • First Aid / CPR
  • OSHA / Provincial Safety Training
  • Carpentry Trade Certification
