What will you do?

The Inside Sales Specialist (“ISS”) represents Volvo and Mack Financial Services in Canada and works closely with the existing District Finance Managers (DFM) in the field and with our current and prospective customers directly to develop new business opportunities. This position acts as a liaison to DFM’s with their day-to-day quoting and to help ensure they meet their customers and dealers’ expectations with a focus on Owner Operator and Fleet Small business. The Inside Sales Specialist will also be responsible for achieving specific measurable sales & operational results, while continuing to display the highest level of professionalism both internally and externally with our dealers and customers. This position reports to the Director of Sales.

You will work in a collaborative, on-site, office-based environment at our location in Mississauga, Ontario, partnering daily with colleagues and dealer partners to resolve customer situations. We celebrate wins and learn from challenges, transforming together to stay flexible, fast, and customer focused. During training you will be expected to work from our Aurora, ON location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide F&I support to dealers who do not have an F&I department.
  • Direct contact and interaction with applicable OEM company field Staff (Volvo Construction/Truck and Mack Truck) and support representatives to ensure that Volvo Financial Services is supporting the effort and strategy of the OEM.
  • Work constructively with the Credit Analysts & DFM to structure and submit financial transactions (Small Fleet and Owner Operator) and dialogue with both dealers and customers directly.
  • Monitor sales pipeline daily to ensure that DFM’s have updated regularly and identify opportunities to assist the DFM in closing a deal.
  • Track volume, and penetration for all dealers and look for innovative ways to help drive results to meet and exceed targets.
  • In the temporary absence (vacation, illness, etc.) of a DFM, the Inside Sales Specialist will manage the territory for customer and dealer service requests. Occasional territory and dealer visits may be required.
  • Assist DFM in preparation of doc request form, pricing, and quoting as required.
  • Utilize PowerBI reporting to help give dealer/client insights to F&I managers and DFM’s.
  • Support the Sales team and partner with Marketing in the continuing promotion of new and/or enhanced financial products.
  • Research declined deals to find different ways to structure the deal for credit approval.
  • Monitor deals that have been approved and not funded by proactively contacting the dealerships for closure.
  • Initiate the process to ensure the new rates are appropriately updated and drive the process through to Marketing for timely internet publication and distribution to VFS.
  • Liaison between VCE and DFMs for residuals pricing above standard hours per month.
  • Participate in cross department meetings with Credit and Operations to drive process efficiencies to improve deal origination turnarounds for each area.
  • Supports creation of all necessary transaction documentation to deliver to the dealer or end user customer.
  • Works with other departments to ensure continued support of the sales objectives and dealer responsiveness goals.
  • Provide testing support for new system launches and subsequent updates.
  • Administration of VCE subsidies and subsidy database (approval of residual values per grid).
  • Assist with quarterly VCE/Truck programs for distribution.
  • Monitor Q2 status page for submitted deals aging over 24hrs and work with Credit and Sales to ensure timely adjudication and offer support for information required.
  • Provide sales analysis by reviewing various reports (Order Boards, RSAs, RDNs) to identify opportunities and ensure that it is being captured in the sales pipeline.
  • Ensure the follow up process is working with the DFMs, Operations and Credit to fund transactions on pending funding list as well as post-funding items on the follow-up report by being the primary contact for Sales.
  • Provides support to Sales Director and RSMs as needed on other assigned key projects.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Finance or Marketing is preferred
  • Bilingual in English and French is required.
  • Proven financial services expertise in the equipment finance industry indicated by 5 years progressive industry experience.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis to include the ability to analyze dealer financial statements and operations.
  • Solid understanding of sales/marketing, strategic forecasting/planning and implementation.
  • Problem solving and customer service skills in a financial products environment.
  • Experience in structuring and negotiating finance transactions.
  • Technical skills in financing capital equipment and related business law requirements.
  • Understands the principles of leasing; tax aspects, cash management, off-balance sheet, and lease versus buy decision making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to generate customer responses that are effective and consistently reliable.
  • Computer literate in MS Office.
  • SuperTRUMP or similar finance/lease pricing tool is desired.
