Claims Adjuster - Inside Large Loss Level 3

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Inside Large Loss Claims Adjuster to manage complex, high-value property claims from initial notice through final resolution. This role focuses on delivering a seamless, fair, and supportive member experience by accurately interpreting policy wordings, conducting thorough investigations, managing vendor partnerships, and creating detailed repair estimates to ensure accurate claim settlements.

Responsibilities
Large Loss Claims Management: Proactively manage complex, large-loss property claims from initial report through to final resolution, negotiating settlements within authorized limits while delivering an empathetic, high-touch member experience.

Policy Interpretation & Estimating: Review and interpret complex policy wordings to determine coverage, while utilizing estimating software to analyze repair scopes, evaluate property damage estimates, and issue accurate coverage decisions.

Reserving & Financial Accuracy: Establish, update, and maintain timely loss and expense reserves throughout the claim lifecycle by evaluating and reconciling inputs from appraisers, independent adjusters, and contractors.

Liability & Investigation: Conduct comprehensive file investigations to determine liability and coverages in accordance with adjusting guidelines, engaging internal and external resources as needed while gathering evidence to support recovery efforts.

Stakeholder, Vendor & Team Leadership: Drive proactive multi-channel communication (voice, digital, and written) with members, manage third-party service providers, and provide ongoing technical guidance, peer coaching, and mentorship to claims staff.

Compliance & Operational Support: Maintain up-to-date claim files and diary systems in compliance with regional regulatory, licensing, and company standards, while supporting catastrophe (CAT) plans and executing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Licensing & Certification (Mandatory): Must possess an active Claims Adjuster Permit issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) in claims settlement for Quebec. CIP designation (or working toward it) is a strong asset.

Claims & Industry Experience: Minimum 2 years of insurance adjusting experience with 3+ years specializing in residential property; experience in commercial or farm property insurance is a strong asset.

Technical & Estimating Expertise: Highly proficient in reviewing repair estimates, drafting narrative scopes, and utilizing advanced estimating software systems to quantify complex property damage, alongside familiarity with insurance technology and AI tools.

Policy Interpretation & Analysis: Demonstrated ability to interpret complex policy wordings, make sound coverage decisions, analyze liability, and manage high-value loss and expense reserves across the claim lifecycle.

Customer Focus & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills rooted in empathy, with the proven ability to tailor messaging across multiple channels (voice, digital, written) to ensure a high level of member satisfaction.

Leadership & Problem Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, combined with a collaborative mindset to provide peer coaching, technical advice, and mentorship to claims team members.

Organization & Compliance: Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, high attention to detail, and full compliance with regional regulatory and company standards.
