Alongside a manager who will help coordinate and lead operations at George Martin Hall; you’ll help oversee staff, collaborate with teammates, and help where needed. We can’t wait to see your growth, all while igniting your passion and pursuing what matters to you.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day food service operations at STU's George Martin Hall
• Support Manager and Executive Chef in supervising food production, waste management and record keeping
• Assist with recruitment, training, staff orientation, scheduling and filling shifts as needed
• Assist Manager with managing team performance
• Supervise cash handling procedures, balance cash float, safe and verify deposits
• Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are always followed
• Resolve customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the Manager as necessary
• Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by maintaining food and labor initiatives
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, leading by example
• Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm they are prepared and delivered on time.
• Support Manager in overseeing occasional catered events.
• Maintain communication with staff (including office staff, e-mail, phone calls, inter-office mail, etc).
• Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager whenever his/her skill and/or experience would be vital to initiate, coordinate, or complete any given program

Qualifications

• 3+ years' leadership experience experience required
• 1+ years' food services experience required
• Experience working as a part of a catering team considered an asset
• Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards considered an asset
• Strong organizational and team building skills with the ability to coach and motivate team members
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Flexible schedule as some evening, weekend, and/or holiday work may be required

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00.
