Project Specialist - Electrical DistributionLocation: Lachine, QC Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, 40 hours per week Pay Rate: $30-$34/hour Training: Some travel will be required during trainingPosition OverviewThe Project Specialist will support Canadian Field Sales across Eastern Canada with project negotiations related to electrical distribution and power centre product , specifications and technical requirements in order to configure electrical assemblies and prepare accurate project , engineering and internal pricing teams to develop technical solutions, identify project requirements, prepare configurations and provide technical support throughout the bidding and negotiation , electrical specifications and project documentation.-Configure low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution assemblies and control equipment.-Support configuration of MV controls, LV and MV switchgear, low-voltage boards and related electrical assemblies.-Prepare technical comments, clarifications and formal customer proposals.-Develop project configurations, quotations and bid packages.-Support pricing discussions and project negotiations with internal sales teams.-Provide technical guidance and value-added engineering support to Field Sales.-Assist with CSA, NEMA and ANSI-related technical requirements.-Review customer requirements and identify potential technical or commercial risks.-Work collaboratively with engineering, sales, pricing and other internal departments.-Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout product configuration, pricing and proposal preparation.-Support large and complex electrical distribution projects throughout the bidding 's degree in Engineering, a technical discipline or Business.-Minimum 3 years of experience working with:-Electrical assemblies-Electrical distribution systems-Electrical protection technologyPreferred Qualifications-6+ years of engineering or technical sales experience involving electrical assemblies, electrical distribution or protection technologies.-2+ years of experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.-Previous experience as a:-Sales Engineer-Inside Sales Engineer-Project Engineer-Applications Engineer-Proposal Engineer-Experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear or power distribution equipment.-Experience preparing technical quotations, proposals and equipment configurations.-Fluent French, both written and spoken.-Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, plans and customer documentation written in French.-Reside within approximately 100 km of Montreal, :-Single-line diagrams-Three-line diagrams-Wiring diagrams-Electrical schematics-Technical specifications-Commercial documentation-Knowledge of low- and medium-voltage switchgear.-Understanding of electrical protection and power distribution technologies.-Experience configuring engineered electrical assemblies.-Strong attention to detail when preparing configurations, pricing and proposals.-Ability to assess technical and commercial risks associated with large projects.-Knowledge of relevant electrical standards and codes, including CSA, NEMA and ANSI.-Strong communication and collaboration skills.-Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team , power distribution equipment, electrical drawings and project , switchgear manufacturers, power distribution companies, electrical engineering firms or industrial electrical equipment suppliers would be particularly relevant. What You'll Do: What You'll Bring:-Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a technical discipline, or Business.-3+ years of experience with electrical assemblies, electrical distribution, or protection technology.-Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.-Strong understanding of low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment.-Experience supporting technical quotations, project proposals, product configuration, or engineered solutions.-Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage technical and commercial project requirements.-Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, engineering, pricing, and other cross-functional :-6+ years of experience in electrical engineering, applications engineering, technical sales, or a similar role.-Previous experience as a Sales Engineer, Inside Sales Engineer, Project Engineer, Applications Engineer, or Proposal Engineer.-Hands-on experience with LV/MV switchgear, switchboards, controls, breakers, or power distribution equipment.-Experience configuring electrical assemblies or using quotation/configuration platforms such as Bid Manager or similar systems.-Strong knowledge of CSA, NEMA, and ANSI standards.-Fluency in French, both written and spoken, with the ability to interpret technical documents and specifications in French.-Experience supporting complex electrical projects, technical negotiations, and risk assessment.
