Job description
Hi! I’m looking for a reliable and patient childcare provider for my two children, ages 7 and 9, in Spruce Grove. I work long shifts on a rotating 6-on/1-off schedule and share 50/50 parenting, so care would primarily be needed during the weeks my children are with me. Morning care would begin at approximately 5:45 AM. I leave for work shortly after 6:00 AM, so I’m looking for someone who can come to our home while the kids are still sleeping, help them through their normal morning routine, prepare breakfast and get them to school. The children attend out-of-school care after school, which is open until 6:00 PM. Depending on my work hours, I may also need help with pickup from OSC and care at our home until I return from work. My 7-year-old is autistic and has ADHD. He is quite independent with his day-to-day needs but can struggle with transitions, frustration and emotional regulation, particularly at home. He generally does very well with other caregivers and tends to respond well to clear expectations and consistent routines. Patience and a calm, confident approach are important. Experience with autism/ADHD is an asset, but not necessarily required. A valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and dependable attendance are important because of my work schedule.
