A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in a relevant healthcare discipline and a minimum of seven (7) years' related management experience in child and youth based services including mental health and substance use. Experience in working in both community and inpatient services essential. Experience in rural and remote care delivery an asset.

Ability to integrate administrative, professional and operational aspects of the department throughout the Island Health in an effective and efficient manner.

Ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships and coalitions with other key service provider organisations to enhance the quality and efficiency of service provision.
Demonstrated ability to lead in the context of evolving needs.
Strong management skills, particularly in staff and budget areas.
Ability to work effectively with staff and physicians.
