This posting is for all Engineering student positions in St. John’s.
Positions Available:
Subsurface Reservoir Engineering
Collaborate with the Reservoir Engineering team to:
Optimize existing well and field performance at White Rose. Monitor production, analyze well data, identify optimization opportunities, and provide performance updates to support value maximization.
Refine development plans, forecasts and well plans for new wells in support of maximizing recovery and value for the White Rose asset. Perform reservoir simulation, analytic pressure and fluid analysis. Classical reservoir engineering methods and reservoir simulation are considered an asset.
Develop advanced analytics, visualizations and machine learning models to help understand existing reservoir performance and optimize further development wells. Background in advanced analytics is considered an asset.
Operation Controls
Support operational and maintenance activities through planning, budgeting, and contract administration initiatives. Responsibilities include supporting turnaround planning, SAP-related activities such as purchase requisition creation and revisions, assisting with budget development and cost tracking, and contributing to ongoing operational support and contract performance improvement initiatives. The role offers exposure to project coordination, financial stewardship, and operational planning within a dynamic environment.
Implementation Engineering
Support the West White Rose Maintenance and Planning team in the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance work scopes. Responsibilities include developing work plans, coordinating materials and resources, supporting procurement activities, tracking work scope progress to completion, and facilitating engineering and contractor work pack reviews. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors, the candidate will help ensure maintenance activities are effectively planned, documented, and executed to support safe and reliable offshore operations.
Atlantic Health and Safety Deployed:
Support the Atlantic Region Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) team in promoting safe and compliant operations across the organization. Responsibilities include assisting with assurance and verification activities, supporting incident investigations, managing and analyzing safety data, participating in hazard and risk assessments, maintaining HSE documentation and reporting systems, and helping to communicate and reinforce safety standards. Working closely with operational and functional teams, the candidate will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the achievement of HSEQ performance objectives.
Digital Transformation
This student position supports the Digital Transformation team in designing and delivering data-driven solutions that create value and support growth across the Atlantic Region. The role involves working with operational data to define workflows and requirements, prepare and transform data, and develop data models and integrations from multiple sources. The successful candidate will help build analytical tools, dashboards, visualizations, and reports that support operational and performance management decisions. Responsibilities also include supporting data governance activities and maintaining high-quality, reliable data solutions. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in data analytics, digital technologies, and business transformation within the offshore energy industry.
Operational Excellence
This student position supports the Operational Excellence team in maintaining and improving training and competency processes across the business. The role assists with planning, reporting, communications, process documentation, and the coordination of improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include tracking training and competency compliance, maintaining records and databases, supporting eLearning updates, and preparing reports, presentations, and training materials. The successful candidate will also help organize competency assessment documentation and provide general administrative and project support to the team. This position offers valuable exposure to operational excellence practices and Training and Competency programs within the offshore oil and gas industry.

Who you are
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).
Available to begin work in January 2027.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Solid analytical and Microsoft Suite skills, specifically Excel.
Excellent interpersonal, judgement, and decision-making skills.

Education
Must be enrolled in an Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
