Full-Time Nanny/Family Assistant Position - Newborn/Infant Care Term: September 2026 - approximately July 2027 Schedule: Monday - Friday approximately 7am - 3pm, occasional evenings and weekends Salary: $25-$30/hr, depending on experience and qualifications, less statutory deductions If you are passionate about newborn care and assisting an entrepreneurial professional family, located in Fernwood, this position could be for you! Requirements: Minimum 3 years experience as a nanny Previous experience caring for newborns Current CPR First Aid Level B Valid drivers licence and reliable personal vehicle Current criminal Record with vulnerable persons check Legally entitled to work in Canada Comfortable working in a home with pets. Comfortable working alongside parents who may periodically be home during the workday. Primary Childcare Responsibilities: Attentive daily child/newborn care; feeding, diapering, hygiene care, sleep support, administer medications, soothing, playing, reading, coordinating and prioritizing mother-baby bonding & breastfeeding Child related care; cleaning and sterilizing bottles and pump parts, cleaning and maintaining all child-related feeding equipment, maintaining a clean and tidy nursery, organizing the nursery, child-related laundry (clothes, bedding, applicable toys), nursery restock and replenish child care related items, diaper pail maintenance Attend developmentally appropriate classes and age-appropraite outsings, adjusting plans according to the infants needs Transport the infant to the mothers place of work for breastfeeding Daily outdoor time Keep parents informaed about feeding,naps, activities, mood and significant events during the day Family and Household Support When the baby is sleeping or otherwise settled and childcare responsibilities are complete, responsibilities may include: Maintaining a tidy and organized home, including putting away everyday clutter, resetting common living areas, and organizing household items and supplies for efficient use Light cleaning and routine upkeep of high-use areas (e.g., vacuuming, wiping counters, dishes/dishwasher, and garbage/recycling) Maintenance, administering routine medications, and other routine care as needed Household laundry, including washing, drying, folding and putting away clothing, bedding, towels and other household linens, as well as changing and making beds as needed Restocking and replenishing household supplies commonly used items (eg. toilet paper, hand soap, paper towel, etc.) Basic indoor plant care, including watering as needed Basic pet care for one cat, including feeding, refreshing water, litter box Schedule Approximately 35-40 hours per week This position will include a written averaging agreement in accordance with B.C. employment standards. The regular schedule will generally be Monday–Friday; however, some flexibility in the distribution of scheduled hours is an important part of the position. With reasonable advance notice, hours may occasionally be shifted—for example, to an evening, a different weekday, or an occasional weekend day—to accommodate the family's schedule.
