Job description

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Production Blender to join our manufacturing team in Woodstock, Ontario. The Production Blender will operate and monitor chemical compounding, blending, and filling equipment; prepare liquid and powder batches according to established formulations; and ensure products consistently meet quality and customer specifications. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment. They must be safety-conscious, able to follow written procedures and formulations accurately, work effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate strong attention to detail and basic math and measurement skills. Knowledge of chemistry or science is considered an asset.

Location: Woodstock, Ontario
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Breaks: 30-minute lunch, plus 10-minute morning and afternoon breaks
Pay Rate: $25+/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare liquid and powder batches according to standard formulations and specific customer requirements.
  • Accurately measure, weigh, and add ingredients in the correct quantities and specified order.
  • Operate and monitor mixing, blending, filling, and related production equipment.
  • Monitor batches and finished products to ensure they meet required quality specifications.
  • Fill products into the appropriate packaging and ensure the correct labels are applied.
  • Print, scan, and verify product labels, barcodes, and production documentation.
  • Use barcode scanners and related systems as part of the production and material-tracking process.
  • Accurately record and verify raw materials, batch information, production quantities, and finished products using required documentation and/or production systems.
  • Complete all required production and batch documentation accurately and on time.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including tanks, fillers, pumps, lifting equipment, label makers, barcode scanners, and other production equipment.
  • Safely handle and move raw materials, ingredients, tools, packaging, drums, and finished products.
  • Routinely move and position drums weighing up to approximately 600 lb (272 kg) using appropriate material-handling equipment and safe-work procedures.
  • Transfer drums between skids and safely tip or position drums for pouring as required by the production process.
  • Keep production areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Clean and prepare equipment for subsequent production runs.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ISO processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase production efficiency.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and support the successful implementation of process improvements.
  • Perform other production-related duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing or production experience is preferred.
  • Experience with batching, blending, chemical manufacturing, filling, or similar production processes is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow written instructions and formulations precisely.
  • Good basic math, measurement, and record-keeping skills.
  • Comfortable using barcode scanners and computer-based or electronic production systems.
  • Ability to accurately identify, scan, and verify raw materials, labels, and finished products.
  • Ability to work safely with raw materials, chemicals, and production equipment.
  • Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, material handling, and repetitive movements.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lb (23 kg) manually.
  • Ability and willingness to work with drums weighing up to approximately 600 lb (272 kg) when using designated material-handling equipment.
  • Forklift experience and/or certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemistry, science, or chemical handling is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills.
  • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding, hands-on manufacturing position requiring regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, material handling, equipment operation, and movement throughout the production area.

Heavy-drum handling is an integral part of the position.

The Production Blender will routinely be required to move and position drums weighing up to approximately 600 lb (272 kg), including transferring drums between skids and tipping or positioning drums for pouring. Appropriate material-handling equipment and safe-work procedures will be provided, and employees are required to use the equipment and follow all applicable safe-work procedures.

The position also requires the ability to manually lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lb (23 kg).The Production Blender will work around production equipment, raw materials, chemicals, packaging materials, and finished products and must consistently follow all applicable safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
