Job description

Description

This is a career-defining opportunity for an experienced and motivated Project Manager to join one of Canada's most exciting new uranium developments and play a pivotal role in delivering the critical infrastructure and special projects that will enable the Patterson Lake South (PLS) Project to become a reality.

Greenfield mining projects of this scale are rare in Saskatchewan. The opportunity to lead major enabling projects from concept and planning through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover is even rarer. At Patterson Lake South (PLS), you won't simply manage established assets—you'll help create the infrastructure that will underpin one of Canada's next-generation uranium mines.

You will be responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of strategic projects that are essential to the success of PLS. These include early works construction activities, temporary and permanent camp development, aerodrome implementation, transportation infrastructure, and the establishment of critical services such as LNG/LPG supply. Working with engineering consultants, contractors, suppliers, government agencies, Indigenous communities, and internal project teams, you will lead complex initiatives from initial concept through commissioning and operational readiness.

This role offers the unique opportunity to influence key project decisions, negotiate strategic commercial agreements, and solve complex challenges that directly impact the project's safety, schedule, cost, and long-term operational success. You will gain broad exposure to all phases of project development while collaborating with experienced professionals across engineering, construction, procurement, operations, permitting, and stakeholder engagement.

As the project progresses toward construction and production, you will see the direct results of your leadership as critical infrastructure moves from an idea on paper to fully commissioned facilities supporting one of the world's premier uranium developments. Few roles provide the opportunity to take projects through their complete lifecycle while helping shape the future of an entire mining operation.

This position offers exceptional opportunities for professional growth, increasing responsibility, and long-term career development within a growing global uranium company. For project professionals who are motivated by ownership, leadership, and the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy, this is a chance to help build one of Canada's most significant new mining projects and make a meaningful contribution to the future of clean energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic projects that support the successful development of the Patterson Lake South (PLS) Project.
  • Manage the development and implementation of critical enabling infrastructure, including aerodrome development, camp facilities, early works, logistics infrastructure, and other owner-led initiatives.
  • Lead commercial engagement, technical evaluation, and negotiations with LNG/LPG suppliers and other key service providers to establish long-term supply agreements that support project execution and operations.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams, engineering consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Lead delivery of the early works package, setting a pathway for full construction in 2028.
  • Develop project execution strategies, scopes of work, schedules, cost estimates, budgets, procurement plans, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, permitting, procurement, Indigenous relations, government agencies, and operations teams to ensure alignment across all project interfaces.
  • Support permitting, regulatory approvals, and stakeholder engagement activities associated with infrastructure and special projects.
  • Prepare business cases, management presentations, funding requests, and executive reports to support project decision-making.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and ensure all activities are executed in accordance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing large capital projects within the mining, energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering owner-managed infrastructure or special projects, including camps, transportation infrastructure, utilities, fuel supply, or other major enabling works.
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing key supplier and contractor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, contract administration, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and government stakeholders is considered an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced project environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive remuneration and annual incentive program
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health and dental coverage, a Health Spending Account (HSA), and RRSP matching
  • Career development opportunities within a growing, global company
  • A supportive, inclusive, and safety-focused workplace culture
  • Opportunity to contribute to the development of a major Saskatchewan uranium project
  • Exposure to multiple phases of project development, including engineering, construction, commissioning, and future operations
