Fleet Supervisor – Pacific Rim Distribution

Working Days: Mon- Fri (5am - 1.30pm)
Commercial Logistics Inc. is looking for a Fleet Supervisor to lead daily transportation operations at Pacific Rim Distribution, our Vancouver Island operation in Langford.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership of the day-to-day operation. You’ll lead a local team, solve operational problems, and have a direct impact on service, efficiency, and how the operation performs.

About the Role
The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for ensuring daily transportation and cross-dock activities are executed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.
You’ll coordinate drivers, equipment, freight, and third-party carriers; oversee employees and daily performance; respond to operational exceptions; and ensure the resources are in place to meet customer and delivery requirements.
The role also has responsibility for staffing, equipment and facility requirements, safety and compliance, and operating cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transportation activities and ensure delivery plans are executed effectively
- Assign and manage driver, equipment, and operational resources
- Respond to delivery, capacity, staffing, equipment, and service issues
- Coordinate third-party carriers when required
- Oversee cross-dock and outbound freight activities
- Supervise employees, manage schedules, and monitor performance
- Participate in recruitment, training, coaching, and corrective action
- Coordinate vehicle, equipment, and facility maintenance
- Support safety programs and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Review operating costs, carrier usage, and applicable invoices
- Provide input into departmental budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control costs

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, specialist certificate/diploma plus 2–3 years of related experience, or 4–6 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in transportation, distribution, logistics, or a related operational environment
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Understanding of transportation regulations and transport equipment
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience with transportation management systems
- Experience with DSD, cross-dock, or similar distribution operations
