Job description

Duration: 1 Year Contract (Extension and Conversion Possible)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Core Business Hours (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM). Optional overtime may be required on occasion.

Job Description:

  • Our client is seeking an Operations Analyst to support Fixed Income trading activities within Global Operations.
  • This role focuses on collateral settlements, reconciliations, cash settlements, exception management, and operational support across Fixed Income products.
  • The successful candidate will work in a collaborative team environment and contribute to process improvements, operational excellence, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Hybrid work model with onsite presence required 3 days per week (Monday to Wednesday), with a possibility of increasing to 4 days onsite in the future.


Responsibilities:

  • Process collateral settlement activities supporting Fixed Income trading operations.
  • Process cash Principal and Interest settlements in Loan IQ for CSA agreements.
  • Execute cash settlements utilizing SWIFT messages (MT202, MT103) for Variation Margin, Initial Margin, and Repo Margin transactions.
  • Manage and resolve operational exceptions arising from trade discrepancies, reconciliations, depository breaks, and cash breaks.
  • Perform reconciliation of internal accounts and depository balances through both manual and automated processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support ad hoc operational requests and business initiatives.
  • Participate in process improvement, analysis, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Assist with project initiatives, including test case development and execution.
  • Maintain and update operational procedures and documentation.
  • Follow escalation procedures and ensure adherence to established operational controls and policies.
  • Deliver high-quality service and support to business partners and clients.


Experience:

  • Must have: 1 to 2 years of Capital Markets experience.
  • Must have: Sound knowledge of Canadian and U.S. Fixed Income settlements.
  • Must have: Settlements and payments experience.
  • Must have: Experience interpreting and processing transactions within defined operational procedures and SLA requirements.
  • Experience with collateral management, securities lending, repo transactions, and reconciliations is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Commitment to completing the full duration of the contract assignment.
