Leading and coordinating the financial administration of assigned divisions and operations.

Preparing timely monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and commentary for senior leadership and Corporate Accounting.

Managing month-end close, including balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, bank reporting, and supporting schedules.

Maintaining accurate accounting records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and building production, statistical, and financial reporting tools in Excel.

Evaluating and implementing automation tools, system capabilities, and standardized workflows to reduce manual effort, eliminate duplication, strengthen controls, and improve the speed and accuracy of reporting.

Serving as the Controller's right-hand partner — anticipating needs, helping manage priorities, resolving issues, supporting key decisions, and providing reliable leadership coverage when required.

Supporting annual audits, budgets, forecasts, strategic initiatives, and special projects alongside the Regional Controller.

Preparing municipal invoices, revenue-share schedules, HST filings, Statistics Canada reports, and other required financial reporting.

Overseeing vendor invoice processing, customer collections, and related AP and AR activity.

Acting as a finance business partner to operational leaders — providing practical insight, challenging assumptions, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and performance.

Spending regular time in the field at assigned operating sites to understand operational processes and cost drivers, and to connect financial results to day-to-day activity.

Building strong relationships with site leaders and frontline teams, and using field observations to sharpen forecasts, reporting, controls, and decision-making.

Leading, coaching, and developing a team of approximately five to seven finance employees — setting expectations, delegating, monitoring performance, and providing regular feedback and training.

Building effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients, and municipal contacts.

Preparing ad hoc analysis and reporting, and other related duties as assigned.

CPA designation and a Bachelor's degree in business or finance.

7–10 years of progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, including 3–5 years in a leadership-focused role.

Demonstrated people leadership and supervisory experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development.

Strong knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency across Microsoft Office.

Experience with accounting software; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central strongly preferred.

Proven use of automation, reporting, workflow, or data tools to simplify finance processes and improve the quality of business information.

Experience with RTA Fleet Management Software, Navusoft, or Materials Manager is considered an asset.
