Job description

We are seeking a highly accomplished IT - Network Analyst III for an enterprise-level contract opportunity based in Mississauga. In this role, you will take on a premier network performance, capacity management, and complex troubleshooting capacity, specializing in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure across high-QoS environments.

As a senior network analyst, you will bridge the gap between business-as-usual (BAU) network operations, capacity planning, and architectural growth strategies. Operating within a hybrid work model in Mississauga (with potential on-call rotation duties), you will analyze packet traces, monitor LAN/WAN traffic, troubleshoot complex network incidents, and perform deep-dive data modeling. This position demands a technical network authority with extensive experience across load balancers, firewalls, software-defined networking (SDN/ACI), and packet analysis tools to ensure optimal network health and availability.

Location: Mississauga, ON

Assignment Type: Hybrid (Currently 2 days per week onsite, with potential to increase up to 5 days onsite)

Contract Duration: 1-year contract (Possibility of extension or permanent conversion)

Advantages
Enterprise Network Exposure: Troubleshoot and manage complex infrastructure spanning Datacenter switching, VxLAN, ACI (SDN), SD-WAN, and Cloud (AWS/Azure).

Advanced Diagnostic Tooling: Utilize leading network sniffers and packet analysis platforms, including ExtraHop, Riverbed ARX, and NetScout InfiniStream.

Proactive Capacity Leadership: Drive long-term network growth modeling, QoS optimizations, and infrastructure upgrade recommendations.

Predictable Long-Term Contract: Secure a 1-year engagement with extension and conversion opportunities.

Responsibilities
Perform end-to-end performance and capacity monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting, and trend reporting for enterprise network infrastructure.

Investigate complex application performance incidents, analyze network packet traces to establish root cause, and support high-priority operational issues.

Monitor network capacity proactively to forecast growth needs, identify outliers, and remedy bottlenecks before incidents impact production.

Evaluate and optimize routers, switches, Datacenter switching, VxLAN, Cisco ACI, load balancers, firewalls, DNS/DHCP services, and LAN/WAN/SD-WAN circuits.

Track and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Class of Service (QoS) utilization trends across network platforms and circuits.

Maintain detailed growth projections and multi-year capacity models for various lines of business to inform future hardware and circuit upgrades.

Collaborate with Network Architects and Line of Business stakeholders to evaluate coming projects, assess network readiness, and establish monitoring thresholds.

Develop custom reporting, maintain data mining processes, and configure business definitions on network sniffer appliances.

Provide consultative guidance on testing emerging technologies (Cloud, SD-WAN, Wireless, VoIP) from a capacity and availability standpoint.

Qualifications
Core Requirements & Network Expertise
Troubleshooting & Network Tenure: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on technical troubleshooting experience in enterprise-level network IT infrastructure.

Network Infrastructure Mastery: Deep technical expertise covering routers, switches, Datacenter switching, VxLAN, ACI (SDN), load balancers, firewalls, DNS/DHCP, LAN/WAN circuits, and SD-WAN.

Packet Analysis & Sniffers: Strong hands-on experience using network sniffers and trace analysis tools (e.g., ExtraHop, Riverbed ARX, NetScout InfiniStream).

QoS & Capacity Planning: Proven experience managing network capacity and performance optimization within high-QoS enabled environments.

Cloud & Emerging Tech: Practical performance management experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN architectures.

Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Preferred Assets & Certifications
Industry Certifications: Active CCNP or CCIE certifications are preferred.

Scripting & Data Mining: Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash), SQL query extraction, or automated data mining is a definite plus.

Modeling Tools: Experience with network modeling tools such as OPNET.

Soft Skills & Delivery Attributes
Diagnostic & Analytical Capabilities: Exceptional ability to analyze trends, identify network anomalies, and perform deep-dive root-cause investigations.

Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills to coordinate tasks effectively across cross-functional teams.
