This is a key position built for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in maintaining a modern fleet to strict factory and safety standards.

As a Licensed Diesel Technician, you will perform high-level preventive maintenance, perform complex mechanical and electronic diagnostics, and overhaul major components in a well-equipped, supportive shop environment.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Winnipeg, MB
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Day Shift)
Environment: Modern Fleet Repair Shop / Non-Unionized
Wage: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour (Plus shift premiums if applicable)

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?

Preventive Maintenance: Perform complete scheduled inspections, servicing, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers.

Major Overhauls & Component Repair: Diagnose, rebuild, and adjust engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, and turbochargers.

Diagnostics: Inspect and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, brake, and steering systems using advanced computerized diagnostic software.

Safety & Inspections: Conduct thorough safety checks and sign off on provincial CVIP inspections to maintain fleet compliance.

Warranties & Documentation: Identify warrantable repairs and accurately detail all work on digital repair orders.

Shop Safety: Maintain clean, hazard-free work areas while observing strict shop and factory specification protocols.

Qualifications
What are we looking for in a candidate?

Certification: Valid Red Seal (RSE) / provincial license (e.g., 310T or provincial equivalent); must be eligible to sign CVIP inspections.

Experience: 5+ years of practical tractor-trailer maintenance and repair experience.

Driver's License: Valid Class 5 driver's license required (Class D/Class 3 with air brakes preferred or willingness to obtain).

Technical Tools: Must own a personal tool set; proficient with diagnostic software, hand/power tools, and shop equipment.

Background Requirements: Able to pass a standard driver's abstract check (no criminal record check or pre-hire drug screening required).

Physical Capability: Comfortable working in a shop environment, including regular lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and occasional heavy lifting.
