The person will also work in partnership with the research and development team and all multidisciplinary teams (marketing, regulatory affairs, finance, purchasing, etc.) to implement and commercialize innovation projects in the plant.

This position requires flexibility in travel in Western Canada, depending on the needs of the company, project launches and deliverables. Key Responsibilities:

Participate in follow-up calls and ensure that plant teams follow the established testing schedule in order to meet agreed upon timelines. Ensure the technical follow-ups resulting from tests, launches and modify the formula and process in order to optimize when necessary.
  • Assist assigned plants in responding to "quality" complaints they may receive (e.g., internal product evaluation, consumer complaints, reduction of rejections) and/or any other initiatives as needed.
  • Act as a "key" technical resource for plant management and engineering teams during any project to modify manufacturing processes and/or equipment to ensure that overall quality is maintained.
  • Train and coach employees working in the factories on ingredients, baking techniques, processes and equipment.
  • Complete and update at all stages established for a product launch, internal specification documents related to the recipe and the manufacturing process.
  • Follow up on the corrective measures to be implemented following an internal or external audit of the plants. Work with the R&D team on necessary changes to business recipes.
  • Document the observations/findings of each visit to the plants and present a summary to the management teams with key follow-ups.
  • Ensure the completion of any other mandates that may be entrusted.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills: the holder must clearly communicate the status of projects as well as details when things get complicated to all parties involved.
  • Attention to detail and rigor in follow-ups.
  • Must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and professionalism.
  • Have a problem-solving philosophy focused on analyzing statistics and/or factual data.

The annual salary range for applicants is: $65,000 - $75,000, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other factors.
