Job description

About Myant Health At Myant Health , we are defining the Internet of Humans, a new generation of healthcare technology that connects people, AI, and machines through the power of textile computing.

Our vision is to transform everyday textiles into intelligent, connected interfaces that can sense, understand, and ultimately respond to the human body.

At the centre of this vision is HumanOS, our platform for creating a personal health digital twin and bringing together information from textile-based sensors, medical devices, wearables, and other connected technologies.

By combining multimodal sensing, biometrics, AI, and clinical intelligence, we are building a more connected and continuous approach to understanding health.

Our SKIIN™ technology turns everyday clothing into a sophisticated health interface, designed to feel like normal clothing while capturing meaningful, clinical-grade health information.

Our technology is being applied across major areas of health, including cardiovascular disease, sleep, hypertension, diabetes, musculoskeletal health, and other chronic conditions.

Our immediate focus is delivering a new standard of care through objective measurement, beginning with accessible diagnostic solutions such as 14-day cardiac monitoring, home sleep apnea testing, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.

Through our broader ecosystem, including technologies such as FIGUR8, we are extending objective health measurement into additional areas of care.

But our ambition goes beyond diagnostics.

We are building toward a future where everyday textiles can become continuous diagnostic and therapeutic interfaces, helping individuals, families, and healthcare professionals understand health earlier, manage it more proactively, and intervene when it matters most.

At Myant Health, you will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of textile computing, AI, software, hardware, biometrics, clinical science, and healthcare to help build technology that could fundamentally change how people experience and manage their health.

This is not simply a wearable technology company.

We are building the infrastructure for a more connected human health ecosystem.

Role Overview: As an R&D Biomedical Engineer , you will work at the intersection of biomedical engineering, electromechanical design, sensing, and healthcare.

You will contribute across the full product development lifecycle, from early-stage concepts and prototyping through verification, validation, and manufacturing transfer.

This is a highly hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working in the lab, building and testing physical systems, and collaborating across disciplines to bring new medical technologies to life.

Key Responsibilities: Design and develop wearable electromechanical medical devices, including enclosures, docks, connectors, and textile-integrated hardware.

Integrate and evaluate biosignal sensing technologies such as ECG, EMG, PPG, IMU, EEG, bioimpedance, and pressure sensing within wearable form factors.

Translate product and system requirements into practical engineering designs, prototypes, and test methods.

Build and iterate prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and other laboratory fabrication techniques.

Develop test fixtures, instrumentation, and experimental setups for mechanical, electrical, environmental, and durability characterization.

Plan, author, and execute verification and validation (V&V) protocols and reports, including applicable electrical and mechanical safety testing.

Support product development in accordance with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 60601 requirements.

Contribute to design controls and regulatory documentation, including design inputs, design outputs, risk assessments, FMEA, DHF documentation, and traceability.

Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental and sensor data to evaluate performance and guide design decisions using MATLAB and/or Python.

Work closely with electrical, mechanical, software, textile, clinical, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated products.

Support design transfer and manufacturing readiness, including collaboration with contract manufacturers and suppliers.

Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and drive solutions from investigation through implementation.

Contribute to continuous improvement of product designs, engineering processes, testing methodologies, and development practices.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; PhD is an asset.

  • 2+ years of experience developing electromechanical, wearable, or medical devices through multiple stages of the product development lifecycle.

Hands-on experience taking products from concept and prototyping through verification/validation and, ideally, manufacturing transfer.

Strong proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Onshape, CATIA, or equivalent.

Practical experience designing, building, testing, and iterating physical prototypes.

Working knowledge of medical device development and applicable standards, including ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and IEC 60601.

Experience developing and executing engineering tests and documenting results in a structured, traceable manner.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with experimental, mechanical, or sensor data.

Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for data analysis and engineering experimentation.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

A hands-on, ownership-oriented mindset and the ability to move comfortably between the lab, engineering documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to Have Experience developing wearable medical devices, biosignal sensing systems, or textile-integrated electronics.

Direct experience working with biosignals such as ECG, EMG, PPG, EEG, bioimpedance, or pressure.

Familiarity with biocompatibility and ISO 10993 requirements.

Familiarity with usability engineering and IEC 62366-1.

Experience with medical device risk management, design controls, and regulatory submissions.

Experience developing mechanical test fixtures and instrumentation.

Experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, or external engineering partners.

Experience working in a regulated medical device or healthcare technology environment.

Experience with wearable sensor validation, human-subject studies, or clinical product development.

What We Offer: A unique opportunity to shape the future of connected healthcare.

Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

A collaborative, fast-paced environment where innovation and impact go hand-in-hand.

Opportunities for professional growth in a mission-driven company poised for global expansion.

Exposure working in one of the most innovative and forward-thinking tech company Powered by JazzHR
