This role also supports mergers, acquisitions, and integration activities by ensuring facilities are appropriately assessed, integrated, optimized, and governed.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Develop and execute a multi-year global facilities strategy aligned with business growth, manufacturing capacity requirements, capital plans, and acquisition activity.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive view of the organization's global facilities portfolio, including offices, manufacturing sites, warehouses, and other operational facilities.
  • Assess current and future facility requirements and provide recommendations regarding expansions, consolidations, relocations, acquisitions, disposals, and facility investments.
  • Lead long-term facility footprint planning, capacity planning, and utilization analysis.
  • Establish and maintain facilities governance, standards, policies, and operating practices across the organization.
  • Support facility-related due diligence, planning, and integration activities associated with acquisitions and divestitures.

Facility Management & Operational Readiness

  • Ensure all facilities are safe, reliable, properly maintained, and capable of supporting business requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance programs, building systems, utilities, infrastructure, and facility services.
  • Establish preventative maintenance programs, facility service standards, and facility performance metrics.
  • Partner with Business Units, Engineering, and Supply Chain leaders to ensure facilities support manufacturing, testing, service delivery, and customer commitments.
  • Ensure facility readiness for new manufacturing programs, product introductions, laboratory requirements, testing environments, and capacity expansions.
  • Identify facility constraints, risks, and dependencies that may impact execution, production capacity, or customer commitments.
  • Drive facility improvements that enhance productivity, throughput, utilization, and employee experience.
  • Oversee the organization's global fleet management program, including company-owned vehicles, related policies, maintenance programs, replacement planning, and utilization management.

Capital Project Delivery

  • Own the delivery of facility and infrastructure capital projects across the organization.
  • Establish project planning, budgeting, governance, reporting, and execution practices for facilities related capital investments.
  • Lead facility expansions, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, relocations, and site modernization initiatives.
  • Ensure capital projects are aligned with approved business priorities and business cases.
  • Partner with Enterprise Transformation to align facilities projects with enterprise governance standards and portfolio priorities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and capable of achieving intended business outcomes.

Real Estate & Lease Management

  • Oversee the organization's global real estate and lease portfolio.
  • Develop leasing strategies that support business requirements, growth objectives, and financial performance.
  • Leverage third-party real estate and facility management providers, where appropriate, to support lease negotiations, lease administration, market assessments, and portfolio management activities.
  • Support lease negotiations, renewals, amendments, expansions, acquisitions, and exits in partnership with Legal, Finance, and executive leadership.
  • Maintain visibility of lease obligations, key decision points, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide executive leadership with recommendations regarding real estate strategy and facility investments.

Risk, Compliance & Business Continuity

  • Ensure facilities comply with applicable regulatory, environmental, building, occupancy, and operational requirements. Partner with Security to support physical security controls and secure facility operations.
  • Partner with People & Culture on workplace health and safety programs while maintaining clear separation of accountability for health and safety governance. • Identify facility-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support emergency preparedness, business continuity, disaster recovery, and site resilience planning activities.
  • Support Finance and Legal by providing facility-related information and risk assessments relating to insurance programs and claims activities.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Global Facilities function.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, standards, and accountability across the function.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, customer service, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution.
  • Provide executive reporting on facility performance, portfolio risks, capital project status, lease obligations, capacity considerations, and investment priorities.
  • Act as the organization's senior subject matter expert for facilities strategy, governance, capital project delivery, and operational readiness.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities, operations, manufacturing infrastructure, capital projects, or related functions.
  • Proven experience managing industrial, manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, warehouse, or technical facilities environments across multiple sites and jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading capital projects, facility expansions, upgrades, relocations, consolidations, or infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Experience operating within complex manufacturing, defense, marine technology, aerospace, robotics, or industrial environments.
  • Proven ability to build and manage budgets, business cases, capital plans, and long-term facility strategies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong understanding of facility operations, maintenance management, business continuity, operational readiness, and risk management.
